The Referee Did Far More Than Just Delay The Count

Bute used the ref to sheild him from Andrade. Alot of fighters do that by moving behind the ref in such a way that he is in the other fighter's path

 

Jesus that ref should have criminal charges brought upon him, isnt the general rule if a fighter can no longer protect himself which Bute physically couldn't let alone fight back, the ref should wave it off instantly, he put Butes life in danger, the IBF should overturn this result, fighters have been hurt like this b4 and refs wave it straight off and there is no problem or controversy from the fighter knowing he was gone.

I thought that the Referee was going to help Bute up so he could beat the count. By all rights, any other Referee would have stopped the fight. This one was doing everything to help Bute survive --- even pulling Andrade off Bute everytime they got in close. Not once did he say keep punching. Anything resembling a clinch was immediately separated. Absolutely no infighting unless Bute was getting the advantage. Damage is done. Montreal has lost their credibility.

 

I agree 100%.

The fight reeks of corruption.

Andrade was blatantly robbed of a stoppage win.

 

It's crazy tho because Wright has always done an excellent job in the past and was seen by everyone as the best referee in Canada.

Not to mention he is a personal friend of Andrade's trainer.

 

You know how it is, a complete life to build a reputation... 10 seconds to destroy it.
