He may do but I doubt it's going to be a case of him picking Calzaghe off at will, Roy is going to have to pull of a performance of Hopkins-Pavlik magnitude and I can't see him doing it or even doing as well as Hopkins did against Calzaghe. Can't wait though! I'll be rooting for Calzaghe and I feel pressure for Joe to put on a good performance, one much more pleasing to watch than the Hopkins one.
Yea your right lets just write off the most talented fighter to ever lace up boxing glovesatsch You're an ignorant **** markus...do yourself a favor and get the **** outta here and go WATCH some fights, it would do that feebile, mongoloid brain of yours a favor:good
Article doesn't say much. If you don't have 5 minutes, here's the summary: Jones is great! He is amazing! You have to hurt Jones to beat him and Calzaghe doesn't have the power to hurt him. They're both old but Jones' comeback from the pits of destruction is on track and he'll perform better than ever since he lost back to back, whereas Calzaghe is on the slide, proof of which is his performance against Hopkins, which was worse than Jones' performance against Trinidad. Calzaghe's trainer Enzo isn't going to help him find a way to win this fight either; Jones' corner is better. Prediction: Jones by late TKO or decision. No one should be surprised if this happens.
Roy will do much better against Calzaghe than Hopkins did. Roy won't be ruining the fight, he will be making it....There is not a more intelligent and gifted fighter than Roy Jones Jr. Joe is extremely smart but not quite as smart and has nowhere near the ability that Jones has.....Jones will have Joe figured out by the middle of the second round, and from there Calzaghe hits the shithouse
Well mate I didnt write the article. I just copied and pasted It expresses my feelings and thoughts about the fight to a T though
except of course for the 120 seconds of every round that he will spend stood against the ropes holding his gloves up to his ears doing a really bad michael watson impersonation.
True, but I have a feeling Roy is going to be hurt and caught flush more than B-Hop was, I'm open minded, as the fight gets closer It's getting more interesting.
This is an easy fight to predict. Jones will be the counter-puncher in this fight. Waiting for Joe to throw and try and catch him, which is what Hopkins did. Roy may or may not have as much success as Hopkins had in the early rounds. IMO i don't think he'll be as effective as that, but he will have some success with his speed. However, what Hopkins possesses and what Jones doesn't is that elusiveness on the defence, Roy will cover up on the ropes allowing Joe to bang away. Not too many of these shots will end up doing much but the ones that do will do enough to catch the judges eyes, or they should do anyway. By the time it gets to the 10th round Roy will have been forced to fight at a higher pace, if he doesnt fight at a decent enough pace then all he will of done for the majority of the rounds will of been to lay on the ropes and soak up punishment. Just for this he'll lose rounds, if he tries fighting at the higher pace I can see him tiring and a late TKO for Calzaghe being a very likely event, however if i had to put my mothers life on it i would go with a Calzaghe UD.
