Hasegawa, Nishioka and Ao defends tomorrow, two highly competitive fight and one that could be exciting too. This is the first major boxing event in Japan since the natural disaster a few weeks back and the champions need to give something to their people to cheer about, make them deal with the suffering easier.

Another Earthquake hit Japan about two hours ago, the strongest aftershock following the 9.0 one in March, the damage of this 7.4 magnitude quake however is expected to be minimal an unlikely to jeopardize tomorrow's card in Kobe, well away from the affected area. Now to something lighter, fun stuff actually.

Humberto Gutierrez loses hair to make weight!

This might be one of the weirdest attempts to cut weight, but in order to meet the SFW limit, a highly drained Humberto Gutierrez had no other choice but to lose his hair to be able to win the WBC 130lbs belt vs. Takahiro Ao. The Mexican was over the limit for the first two attempts, but a quick visit at the barber's and he successfully cut the remaining weight. Hasegawa, Gonzalez, Nishioka and Munoz had no problems at the scales, so the triple-header is going through. Without Gutierrez' hair.

It does start 3am your time but so far nothing is clear on a legal worldwide feed like Keyhole TV (the one created/endorsed by the Japanese government's Department of Foreign Affairs or something) - which has shown some of the big boxing cards on Nippon TV in the past.
