The Rendall Munroe steam train to Japan!

The Japanese judges don't seem too bad from what I've seen.

 

fight would presumably land in Aug/Sep, could do it at the Walkers stadium or Welford road. im sure all the people in Leicester would get behind him and it would be a real novelty/one-off for them to get a world title fight there.

With respect, kosaros' description is a bit misleading. Bangoyan threw shots from weird angles and was able to at times hold Nishioka off and clipped him good enough to mess with his balance a bit a couple of times, but a term like "wobbled" evokes images of a man hurt or teetering on the edge of going down, which Nishioka was never even close to. Bangoyan has a heck of a chin and a very awkward style (and I had him slightly ahead on points at the time of the stoppage despite a point deduction going against him), but Nishioka figured it out and smashed him in time for tea.

If Munroe wins, it will be massive; a huge upset. The biggest upset by a foreigner in a title challenge on Japanese soil since...err, since earlier this morning. :blood :yep

 

If I was a Japanese fight fan I would not be taking anything for granted at the moment.
Still,Nishioka is a big favourite.

 

Munroe hasn't improved at all in the last year or so though, apart from Maludrottu (who won that fight by 2 rounds despite what the judges saw) his opposition haven't been up to much.He still gives away early rounds, gets hit too much and relies solely on his opponents wearing themselves out down the stretch.Nishioka is too quick,too skilled and has too much power.Look at the amount of left hooks Munroe took from Maludrottu,who's not a big puncher,if his defense is as bad as that when he faces Nishioka he will be in all kinds of trouble.

Well I guess that KOs any hope of it being on UK TV....would be morning over here at fight time I guess. If I could choose one domestic fighter to win a world title this year I think I would pick Rendall. I can really respect what hes done with the ability he has.

Well he's going to have to do it the hard way but sometimes that's when fighters come to there best. Good Luck him.

 

Gutted it over there my budget doesnt stretch that far but cmon Two tone ! .... the binmans coming so watch out Japan!

If he pulls this one off it could be arguably one of the finest performances by a UK fighter on foreign soil...
