The Reputation of Lennox Lewis?

The financial side of Hayes situation has been done to death on here over the last month or so and I can see why he's done what he's done but from a historical perspective the onus is on Haye the challenge Wlad.

Wlad is THE Heavyweight champion, he may not be unified but if and when Haye steps in the ring with Wlad he'll be the challenger in my book.

That said history tends to go out of the window when theres multi million £s involved.

 

If Vitali ****ed of and retired we could have it to, instead he just mugs of the germans with **** fight after **** fight.

 

One clause I hope Haye does demand is that Jonathan Banks isn't on the undercard.

 

I would give Audley a 2/10 rating for challenger, Briggs a 3/10.

Nobody is more pissed off about the Audley fight or kicked up more of a fuss about it then me. But if there was a German Olympic gold medalist that everyone in germany new and would get the Klitsckos there highest ever payday, tv audience, gate and get them on every single tv show in germany in the build up, but had the exact same **** record as Audley....do you really think they would turn it down??

yeh you would be quite surprised Audley may actually be the fan favourite going into the fight Nov 13th.

Haye has come across quite poorly in the promotion. Its pretty obvious he really doesn't want the fight deep down. He has been very cold in interviews and the gang **** comment didn't go down well. Whatever you say about Audley, he is a great talker and if people listen long enough they well go caught up in it. Hayes silence for a few months after the Ruiz fight was a pr disaster some of the mainstream media have questioned if he ducked the Klitsckos....which he clearly has.

Still the main reason the public will watch this fight is to see Audley smashed to bits.

 

It's improved since retirement. Both his actual standing, but also (and just as importantly IMO) his value as someone that got out of boxing on his own terms with brains and bank balance intact.

If many boxers won't have the career he's had, I can hope like hell they'll be able to retire on their own terms and with their health as well.

 

I think his reputation has def improved. I do think the fact Lennox retired and meant it has helped as well. U look at the likes holyfield. bowe and tyson for instance fighting way past there best and become more like circus acts but Lennox never did that. We aint gonna see some broke ass guy is his 40's fighting again which is all good!!!

Not only a great fighter but good too see the man didnt get involved in any stupidness meaning he lost his money somewhere.
