Montiel... I remember his HBO debut... they were promoting him as a mexican SRL, that his FATHER didn't train him with JCC in mind but slick boxer/punchers of old. The guy he fought was undefeated as well and unfortunately died from the injuries of the fight he loss Montiel a week to few days later. Also watched when he tried to defeat Mark Too sharp Johnson, but failed, as he was just a little bit too green, perhaps. Nonetheless he is a great fighter, but Nonito is just too dynamic. No shame in losing to someone with that type of technique, ring smarts, athleticism, and explosiveness.
Great thread, my boy Montiel will be back. I hope he comes back hard, and faces top opposition at 122... This is not a career breaker. He has great skills but he just met someone that had more skill and was a better man that day. Not many nonito's out there, its not a shame to lose to him. WAR MONTIEL!@ We await your return.
if amir khan can bounch back after being KO'd in that fashion.......Montiel can and WILL do the same...mark my words ps. i can't believe he got himself up!! Montiel >> Hatton
