So I think we're all agreed that he put in one heck of a performance against Juan Diaz.
Reports are suggesting that he will be back in the summer so that effectively takes Hatton and Pacquiao out of the equasion for next opponent due to their May bout.
So who do you think will be the next opponent for the great Juan Manuel Marquez? I'll smash up my Hagler dvd collection if he actually gets to fight FMJ.

There makes absolute no sense in him returning down to Super-Feather as he has made it clear he wants to move up to 140. With the timing working out just right how about Juan Manuel vacating all belts and moving up to take on the winner of Holt v Bradley. Not the sexiest fight but unless he takes on Campbell or Judah(!) his options are limited.

An intriguing couple of bouts could be against Guzman if beats Romanov or how about Valero?

Either way he's gotta keep the momentum going and HBO and Golden Boy want to send him back out into a meaningful fight.

    What do you guys reckon?

From here on out nothing but career defining fights for Marquez. I disagree with BLADERUNNER. Campbell isn't a big enough name for marquez. He needs the winner of pac/hatton and maybe Mosley at catchweight.

  4. He should be 1st in line for the Hatton& Paq winner:deal..
    **** he deserves it..

He deserves nothing but the mega-fights. The guy has paid his dues. But if HBO/GBP and JMM himself are saying that he's back out in the summer then it has to be a meaningful fight.

JMM v Valero would sell tickets but wouldn't last long. JMM by TKO in seven rounds.

JMM v Campbell is interesting but oddly might not be as 'sexy' as the fight above.

JMM v Guzman would be a fascinating battle but Guzman still isn't known enough except on places like this.

JMM v FMJ is a nice dream but surely this wont be the warm-up for Pac 3, will it?

Campbell is probably the only fighter available for a early summer fight, unless JMM wants to wait for Pac.

Forget Mosley hes way too big for JMM.

Campbell, Holt, Bradley, or Witter at 140. Then the winner of Pacquiao/Hatton.

Witter? Are you kidding me? JMM will want to test the water at 140 in a big way with Campbell etc. Witter is finished.

He should defend his titles in June and have plenty of time to set-up the fight with the winner of Pac vs Hatton for September if all parties are healthy.
