So, I had my 2 golden glove fights last night in North Carolina, and it was not as successful as I had originally hoped, as I lost in the finals of the 178 lb division. I won an extremely close first fight in which they counted a slip as a drop against me(even though its one point). Here are the three rounds, I am the one in the blue trunks with black. I gassed hard in the second round as it was my second fight in as many fights at the 178lb division. Let me know what you guys think. Now my record stands at 3 wins and 1 loss. Yea I did an hour and a half with my trainer, 30 second breaks in between rounds and felt shitty. I'm fighting this July at Great Lakes.
Gotta work on your right hand and keeping your balance, too much loading up and wild punches. Set the shots up, you can't just barge your way in.
So upset about the fight. I beat the guy who was the favorite to win the tournament, and then I looked past this kid and tried to blast him out. I have a lot of stuff to work on and I plan on doing it ASAP. Not too bad though I don't think for a kid who trained himself for the past five months and only been working with my trainer for 3 weeks. Like you all said though its a learning experience I will move on and get better. So, instead of being the 178lb 4-0 golden glove champ for my state I am 3-1! Such a sad feeling though! It was a heartbreaking loss and all I can do is blame myself for choking like a damn fool!
Respect for having a go, you will win that title if you stick to it. Losing is apart of progressing keep your eye on the title
Suck it up mate use it as fuel to train harder. Remember this feeling and make sure you're never in this place again. Its been said before but its all experience build on this and become a better fight for it.
Good job. Only suggestion is to maybe vary the rythem of your shots? Maybe all the shot (esp the right) need to be so hard. Maybe a mixture or speed and power.
Hey bro these were great words thank you for them! All of you thank you! It makes me want to keep fighting.
