I've listened to a lot of his interviews since I really started watching about four years ago. He really thinks he was a world champion, despite never winning a world title fight. Seems like a top bloke, but a dose of reality is needed.
i've spoke to him in person and top bloke he is not, he a big time charlie and he was quite disrespectful to the other boxers at the show thinking he was some kind of superstar. then he got blasted out by gomez. wonder if he believes in 'karma'
Hopefully an impressive stoppage by Arthur and he goes onto better things man .Mitchell Murray maybe man or if we're lucky up[ another level .He lives a clean life man so I think he's got enough in the tank .The fight with Cook he was just praying all the time man .I think he needs more agression man .
I like Arthur man .I remember reading his girlfriend was ringside and he was struggling .What did they say on Rocky women weaken legs .I think with a good gameplan agression and a good team he still goes far at lightweight man [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xq_ul8ZL0U[/ame]
I remember he was in Rome man with his chick .I've got a St Christopher blessed in the vatican man as well .
Tbh i used to like Arthur but now that i know he is religious i have no respect for him, hopefully he gets beat and warrens money can be used for more worthy sensible fighters. Their is no room for religion in boxing!!!
The 2 best fighters in the sport are religous Mayweather and Pacquiao also Mexico is one of the biggest catholic countries in the world so is the Phillipines
I think there are two words which spring to mind with Alex Arthur...:yep Aspiration and Realism...:yep I think that the spark has left Alex Arthur, I think he struggled at the weight for too long and it caught up with him... He has never recovered from the defeat to Michael Gomez...:yep
Typical knee jerk reactive post. Ignore it mate. Muhammed Ali the greatest of all times was a Muslim and wore his badge proudly during his tenure as champ. I dont understand why fans think they need to get so personally involved with fighters as though they own a piece of them. Respect Arthur for his ability to get in the ring and fight. His religion isnt even his issue. His dillusionment is.
Ive been in the ring before aswell, i know what it takes, hard work, dedication and a helluva lot of guts. When your in there its you alone, no higher power is gna help you if youve not put the work in. I like mayweather but the thing that annoys me most about him is when he thanks god after each win. Frankly it disrespectful to his coach and his team for all the hard work they put in and to himself as he is one of the most dedicated pros around. Back to the subject i think Arthur is past his peak and i now only domestic level at best, back in the day i think arthur had the chance to do something at world level but those days are gone.
