The Return Of Vitali- ''I'd Ruin Joshua, I have to bring back the belts and punish him''

If Vitali was five or six years younger I'd pick him to beat Joshua. I really dont believe AJ would be that hard to beat, its just the fact he is the man of the moment.

 

No he didn't. At best he had two years between 2003 and 2005 where he "ruled over the division". When he returned in 2008 Wlad was the Heavyweight King and remained so until his defeat at the hands of Tyson Fury in 2015 - almost two years after Vitali retired the second time.

If Vitali came out of retirement again and defeated Joshua in his first fight back to claim the WBA (Super), IBF and WBO belts then that would cement him as inarguably one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and it would finally give him the career defining victory that eluded him for 16 years.

However, if Vitali came out of retirement Joshua wouldn't be his first point of call because he has no way of forcing a fight for Joshua's belt and would be reliant on Joshua and Hearns being willing to give him a shot. He would be far more likely to utilize his Champion Emeritus status with the WBC and get an automatic shot at Wilder.

I would not be confident backing him to win against Joshua or Wilder right not because he's been out of the ring since 2012 and didn't look particularly good against either Chisora or Charr, but it would be a great feat if he could come back and beat them.

 

Vitali you are a very intelligent guy, the history of boxing is littered with once great champions making ring returns and failing badly.

Please stay retired, in your prime it would have been 2 behemoths locking horns and likely you would have won, however that was the past.
