    He also had decent speed and threw out sporadic flurries and would pounce on his prey. Jake beat many a good boxer, Janiro being one of them and SSR among others. Jake was not just a pure slugger and was not a puncher like Marciano but he had fights that he could be considered a rhythm breaker, in the Cerdan fight, he did not let Marcel get set

    I agree with Michael Spinks -- good call there.

    Have to put Roberto Duran at No. 1. Look at his first fight with Leonard and the Hagler fight, as well as many others like Barkley. His feints and the way he would mill his hands and do a quick deke with his head had even Hall of Fame fighters eating out of his hand.

    I would also add Aaron Pryor, who kept one of the best rhythm fighters of all time, Arguello, from ever finding himself, and Winky Wright, against whom nobody ever seemed to look like themselves.
