Like I said, keyboard warrior...its one thing to lie to us, its another thing completely to lie to yourself....grow up :good

  2. Its beyond words how much i agree with all your pints, we think alike, Audley has ****ed up in the past, but hey, aint we all. Give the guy a break, he has been given a chance and taken it, he has won it more impressively than all the previous prize fighters in rogan and sexton. If he wants to be world champ so be it let hime have a crack at a title if he earns it. But for **** sake stop booing him..

  3. The reason is because most people are jealous of anyone with to much confidence, they hate the fact that they have low self belief and that another person can have so much, in my opinion all outspoken pantomine villans are normally the most talented as they dont feel the need to chase fans, mayweather for example being a pantomine villan with loads of talent, hatton chase fans lack of talent... just my opinion but one that anwsers your question.

I'm not a huge fan of Audley either but was very happy he won last night. I agree the hate he gets is uncalled for. To criticize a fighter is acceptable but to ridicule the guy constantly, well there's no need for it.

He hasn't lived up to his potential, that's his only crime, but he hasn't quit the game despite all those setbacks has he? Many in his place would have retired a while ago.

Do I believe he will win a world title? No. Do I believe he can? Yes if he wants it badly enough. How bad does he want it, only he knows, but the guy has a dream, who am I to step on it. Audely, YES YOU CAN! :good

Gotta disaree with you there. Confidence is different from arrogance which is what De Gale seems to have. Take his first fight, patting his opponent on the head was disrespectful, he seemed overly arrogant and cocky. Also it didn't suit him one bit. Some people can pull it off others cant. Most Brits IMO cannot. Mayweather comes across childlike, playful and it suits him more than it does De gale. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the new, more mature Mayweather but the old one wasn't so bad either. A bit of an ******* but hey, at least he has proved his claims with his talent. He's like a cheeky little brat (very annoying but you can forgive him very easily).

De Gale is a newbie, so his mouth shouldn't be running so hard.

Same with Tyson Fury, all that trash talk and he got a wake up call from McDermott.

When you play the bad guy can you pull it off or just come across as a twat, that's the thing.

I think it's just an english thing, you see it in cricket too with the England boys trying to sledge and copy the aussies, but it doesn't suit them and they end up looking like idiots. Take a lesson from Cotto, Pacman etc

But you know, all these hate groups on facebook etc for a fighter is disgusting. Hate is a really strong feeling and a fighter doesn't deserve it just for being arrogant/cocky. I mean some of the **** you read, its like damn, people have so much poison in their minds, how can they live like that. I mean Fury is an ******* but I'd not want anything bad to happen to him.

Saved me a post, I agree, it's not an attitude that sits well with Brits

We'd rather be shutting big mouths than being the big mouth, that's the traditional British outlook - humble

The Degale attitude is American and won't win you many friends over here IMO

Audley is my favorite fighter of all time but I understand how jealous people can be so I do not get upset at the hate anymore.

  11. To be honest i dont like degale because he ran like usain bolt against sutherland at the olympics, i instantly disliked him for that, but notice the word dislike rather than hate. My point earlier was that elite boxer dont need to chase fanbase where as the level just below feel the need. But as you say (correctly) mayweather is playful where as degale is spiteful. The biggest shame is sutherland has passed away, and he would have knocked that arrogance straight out of degale.

Audley Harrison did it to himself. Every time he had any success he acted like an *******, no sense of perspective, and spoke down to the fans.
Every time he underperformed he denied it. And he's been given unprecedented support and attention and money.

I dont begrudge the man his ambitions, but he needs to learn a bit of humility if he wants people to support him again.

Anyway, he's NOWHERE in the heavyweight division and never will be. If he gets a shot at a title it will be unfair.

he don't deserve any credit with the win the other night, the boys he was boxing were complete novices, except williams.i don't agree with him being there, jeez ****ing hell, isent it for up and coming talent, not for past it half talent, putting a 30 odd fight ex olympic gold medelist against a 8 fight(2 ko) novice,****ing stinks to me:huh
the irish lad in the final gave him all sorts of problems, good job he was not a puncher,:ko
imagine what a good one like vlad or a washed up mccall would do to him,im sorry,he aint going nowhere

To be fair i've messaged him a couple of times on facebook and he's never replied. I used to be a bit of a fan and for nostalgic reasons i'm glad he won the other night especially with the death of his brother etc.

However Audleys problem has always been his lack of humility. He believes he is a star and while his Gold Medal etc is a mighty achievement it doesn't make him a Floyd Mayweather superstar. I've been around lots of boxers and most are extremely humble and not in a fake 'say what someone wants to hear' way.

The donation of the trophy to Sprotts family is a nice touch but it was tarnished a little by that self importance thing like he's trying to be nice. I like Audley and wish him well but a little humility would have served him better. Especially when I remember him coming through writing letters in to Boxing news etc.
