Hi all, let me get one thing clear before I come up with my question: I am not a Fury or Ussyk fan, I am a neutral boxing fan and I do not have much knowledge about boxing so I want to hear some other opinions. I am concerned about the right winner of that fight. When I look on the total punches stats from Compu box and counting out the bodypunches from Fury and Ussyk, we have Ussyk slightly ahead. Then we go to the power punches, if we are counting out the bodypunches again, this time Fury is slightly ahead. So my question is, how did Ussyk win the fight? I thought it’s all about power punches to judge a fight and body punches are just to take away your opponents breath and make him tired for the closing rounds. Body punches are not essential for the scorecards, am I wrong? Ussyk was more accurate, but when Fury still managed to threw more power punches, what kind of impact accuracy does have for the judges? Thank you for answers.
Ofcourse your a "new" member. Did you watch the fight or did you look at numbers generated by compubox. You don't score a fight by compubox stats that's why. Google how to score a fight please. You will get as good an answer there as you will here.
i watched the fight, but i felt most of Ussyk‘ s power punches were body punches and do not explain the scorecards.
Well, i didn‘t find any usefull, that‘s why i came here, to gain some knowledge from someone. If you don‘ t want to tell me, it‘s ok.
When you googled how to score a fight in boxing did it say look at compubox and see who it thought landed the most power shots to the head? It's fairly straightforward, it tells you exactly what a fight is scored on and how to do it. If you have half a brain it should be fairly clear and obvious.
As I just put on another similarly themed thread - If you look at the judges scorecards and score any round where the judges don't agree as a draw, that'd be close to my idea of scoring a fight. Rounds 1, 2, 3, 9 & 12 as a draw. 4&5 to Fury, 6,7,8,10,11 to Usyk. Usyk winning by 3 non contentious unanimous points ---- It's not how to score a fight, but it's a far easier way for a nobody like me to score a fight, and most importantly it shows you why Usyk clearly won (for most). Just for the record, I'd have 4 as a draw and give 9 to Fury, based purely on memory as I've not rewatched.
It was alot closer than the first alot Doing it thrice I dunno maybe as hes closed that gap but the big meech fight is there and he will walk that imo
Compubox is just three guys pressing a button, that is not how boxing is scored. I had it close going into the last 2 but Fury probably didn't do enough in those rounds to get the decision. I will watch it back again next week and rescore it. Some of the early rounds could go either way, depends what you like as a judge. Amazing how the Joshua fanboys have suddenly come out from the woodwork.
