Donaire can't fight everyone at once. He's fought some good fighters and is fighting another good one in his next fight. Let's also not forget that he has a promoter and a manager who have a lot of say in who he fights.

Rigondeaux would humiliate Donaire. He'd make him look like an amateur.

Sorry but no, a few fans posting on ESB and the boxing purists dont equal ¨most boxing fans¨. Rigo needs to get to the casual fans, casual fans are the ones who really determine the popularity of a boxer. Go to your nearest boxing gym and ask the kids training there about Pac, Donaire and Rigo.

All of them will know who Pacquiao is, most of them will know who Donaire is, and with Rigo they'll be like ¨Rigo who?¨

Like somebody said before, this really is a mega fight, a clash betweeen two impressive talents who are serious P4P king material, and those fights dont get made for free. It needs to be a huge demand for it

Donaire is a rising megastar, put yourself in his place, would you jeopardize your reputation, status and future earnings fighting for peanuts against an unknown cuban?

Rigo needs to build a fanbase first, he needs to be more active (much more) and if he keeps winning as impressively as he did against Kennedy, sooner or later the casual fans will get behind him. Then he'll finally have leverage to negotiate with Donaire and the other big names who are ducking him.

Unfortunately his promoters seem to be adamant to only make him fight a tomato can once per year :verysad

¿ Barely ? HE TOOK CORDOBA TO SCHOOL with only SIX fights as a pro man ( and took an interim title in the way ) ¿ who has done that ? , I think that alone is more than enough to guarantee him a shot at the " best " of his division . Rigondeaux doesn't need to "earn" nothing , he's the best in the 122 and even in the 126 division . Rigo's the TRUTH . Peace .

Casual fans really don't give a **** about Donaire either, and he's nowhere near the status of "rising megastar."

Probably true. Martinez hasn't fought in Argentina in ages while Narvaez defends his belt there regularly. Still doesn't change the fact that he brought no more to the table in the States than Rigondeaux would.

" Rigo is a low reward / high risk fighter " = wich means he's too good
    " ... the others are low risk / high reward " = wich means they're ****

Wich bring us to the million dollar question : ¿ Should a so called P4P fighter ( Donaire ) be fighting tomato cans ? , ¿ Shouldnt the best fight the best ? . That's the problem with pro boxing nowadays , cherripicking your way to " stardom " and cheating the fans in the process , it's only when we fans stop behaving like promoters ( "....he shouldn't fight this or that guy , high risk , etc ) and start behaving like fans ( demanding the best fight the best ) that boxing will be saved , if we don't ... then pro boxing will DIE . Peace .

Man you talk some real **** , stop excusing Donaire . Accept what's obvious : he's scared shitless of Rigo . Let me ask you something : ¿ are those kids you mention the ones who buy PPV ? , the only reason those two frauds ( Pac and Donaire ) are so famous is because all the money Top Rank invest on their cash cows , all the cherripicking and propaganda . Rigo has been famous since his amateur days and I bet that if you make a poll he's known by 95% of ALL boxing fans in the net . Lots of people would LOVE to see him fight Donaire , that fight sells itself so let them ( Top Rank ) make it . Peace .
