Thats pretty much how I see it too. JMM v Kats round 3 is my round of the year, the way JMM came back and controlled the rest of the round after that huge KD was immense.
Isnt Ring magazine now run by Goldenboy? Marquez- Goldenboy fighter. Khan- Golenboy fighter. I said here ages ago that the magazine would go down this route, & it has sadly enough...
a fan poll run by a Goldenboy magazine who just happens to list two goldenboy fighters as the most brilliantly exciting ****ers you ever watched this year Instead of me taking my tin hat off, I would suggest you take the blinkers off:deal
****in hell Rob, renaming yourself after me, did this place miss me that much? Well Im back now. Will the real Dunky please stand up? put one scottish finger on each hand up? I guess theres a Dunky Mccafferty in all of us
It that's the fan poll results they've been putting up on their website Martinez didn't win fighter of the year, unless they changed in afterwards because he obviously should have. Pacquaios' fanboys ensured he won it by a landslide.
As a fan poll I'll tell you where I reckon the bias is. Its towards recent fights/ fighters/ rounds because a lot of fans have memories like goldfish.
This is how the Fan Poll voting went for fighter of the year.. Manny Pacquiao: 71 percent Sergio Martinez: 24 percent Juan Manuel Lopez: 2 percent Fernando Montiel: 2 percent Giovani Segura: 1 percent
:deal God bless you Gabriel Sarmiento. I'd completely forgotten about it but I'd say Lopez-Concepcion for Round of the Year. That one really had my heart beating.
its the fan votes one if the put pac/clottey in the fight of the year poll im sure it would have won by a landslide on those stupid polls
I dunno, that round was complete domination by Juanma till the last few secs when he got put down and Concepion had no time time to follow it up
Cazarez - Nashiro R12 - Round of the year? Get the **** out of here! It was sloppy as ****, two exhausted guys arm punching each other to death. It was a good, brutal round, but far short of the best. Omar Nino - Gilberto Keb Bass wasn't half the upset Caba - Litzau or Poon - Lee was. I also feel Ponce De Leon should have got the comeback of the year award, it's quite surprising he didn't actually. Came back with some very good wins.
Round of the year, for me, was on a Goldenboy prospect show at Club Nokia - Oscar Andrade vs Ramon Valadez (can't remember what round it was). Don't think that fight's on Youtube sadly, but Khedafi Djelkhir vs Jorge Cordero, another candidate for ROTY, thankfully is: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IKP8egeB_4[/ame]
