If you have a fight scheduled, you remain in the ratings. They won't drop Klitschko. After all, Hopkins was only removed in like June this year. Povetkin has been dropped from the rankings for juicing.
Read the rules at their site. Ringtv.com go to ratings and scroll down. There you can find their Championship Rules.
Tyson Fury hasn't retired which is why The Ring and Boxrec still rank him the best heavy in the world. He is fighting again in the spring.
What utter bull**** the lineal title doesn't have a predetermined time on how long you can hold it without defending because it's not a sanctioning body it just a recognition that until you are beaten, you are the man to beat to be recognised as the best.
I don't give two hoots what the The Ring decides. I never read that rag back in the day. Ridiculously biased. Boxing Monthly was always far superior. Tyson Fury is the champion. Anyone who says otherwise needn't bother commenting on boxing at any level.
Okay, they've changed their policies from what I remember. Still, there's nothing there that would make Fury lose the championship. Nothing.
ring belt and lineal title are not the same IMO they have stripped stevenson but hes still lineal IMO
The #1 and #2 fighters in a division can start a new lineage at any time, even WITHOUT Fury. Simple as that, like it or not. I don't think Wlad and AJ are the #1 and #2 HW fighters at this point in time, just for the record.
Fury is a former champion. He's inactive for longer than a year and has no fight scheduled. Not even a tuneup.
Where are you getting that from ?? It's never been the case. The champion is champion, and if #1 and #2 fight each other, the champion is still champion. When there's a champion in place, #1 fighting #2 is called "an eliminator".
He fought less than a year ago, to be technical. November 28th, it is November 3rd today. He fought Wladimir Klitschko, who hasn't fought since then either, yet you're saying Wladimir is worthy to contest the championship. How does that make sense? Ther RING magazine (which isn't the same as lineal) doesn't say anything about a year's inactivity, it says something about 18 months.
Seriously? If they even give him a small ban for drug use or refusing testing they will strip him. Even if it's only for the cocaine thing because that would get him past the 18 month defense rule.
