The Ring Drops Cotto from 7 to 9 on P4P Rankings

The Ring is also inexplicably making Wlad-Chagaev for their heavyweight championship, which is really stupid, especially when you consider they did not do the same thing when Mosley fought Margo.

Regardless, I'm not sure that Cotto should have even still been in the top 10 P4P in the first place.

Cotto's lower ranking is...strange. Hopkins has deteriorated physically, and has lost more than Cotto but he is still riding high...Cotto has deteriorated physically and just beaten a fighter who would be trouble for absolultely anyone in the division. I think their consistnacy can be called into question.

Having said that - Cotto would maybe have slipped a place on my p4p list if I had one!! So, I think their position is defendable, it's just that their list tends to be based mainly upon who a fighter beats, which is the fairest way - so this seems really odd to me.

Fair, but rather inexplicable. Maybe there is going to be a policy switch. As long as they are consistant, I don't care.

 

Well the 1 v 3 crowning is circumstantial, and they've been clear about this from day 1. I'll be interested to read their justifaction in the next issue, but the bottom line is the #1 and #2 are just not going to meet on account of they are brothers. So there is reasonable grounds...the only thing is, it sets a rather dangerous precident. OK, the Klitschkos are in a unique situation, but I don't accept that in technical terms there is a difference between not fighting your #1 contender because of reason A and reason B.

Why? He's lost to one fighter who may have been using loaded gloves to baseball-bat him. I think he should have been reinstated to the p4p list as soon as Margarito was exposed, frankly.
