"Before Hatton/Pacquiao, more than a few observers were referring to Hatton as a "future Hall of Famer." Well, excuse me for piling on a guy who needs a hug alot more than he needs criticism right now, but Hatton's crash against Pacquiao assured that the Briton won't have to worry about writing any induction speech.

Hatton's record simply isn't Hall-worthy. For starters, his list of accomplishments is thin. Forcing Kostya Tszyu to surrender on his stool rates as the highpoint of Hatton's career. But Hitman's other biggest wins came against guys who were either faded (Jose Luis Castillo, Vince Phillips), or nothing special to begin with (Juan Urango, Luis Collazo, Paulie Malignaggi, Juan Lazcano).

Hatton won two alphabet crowns, but just one world championship recognized by The Ring. More importantly, in his two superfights, he was knocked out conclusively by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Against the latter, Hatton wasn't even in the fight."

However the popularity he has brought to the sport is undeniable, so if Warren can get in there just based on his promotion of fights then he is surely a shoe-in? I agree that based on his fight record he should not get into the hall of fame but because he did something no other fighter is capable of doing (imo obviously) in bringing so many fans to see him face PBF and garner so much interest in the fight I think he should get in (and again with the Pac man fight and potentially with the Amir Khan fight).

hmm says... I dunno, it's about a toss up to me. Hatton may not have the greatest or appealing style and ppl can question his resume. But he only lost to both #1 p4p fighters. What he has brought to boxing is something we rarely see... especially from the UK. I guess we'll find out if he continues to fight and not end his career.

He was just a product made by Warren..

Hatton would have been nothing if he was American. He'd be someone like Mickey Ward.

Yes definitely. He beat prime Tszyu and KOed Castillo. He is linear champ at 140 for a while and he was also champ at 147. Only 2 losses in almost 50 fights.

    That should be good enough.

I don't think he is worthy of it, but i won't be surprised if he gets in based on the massive following he generated.

    I'll make this clear:

For British boxing he is HOF material, I think he's done a hell of a lot for the sport in the UK and his popularity will be hard to rival- that said watch out for our very own Tony Jeffries in the future!

In terms of worldwide HOF staus- I think he'll be remembered as a tough little ******* with a good 5 years as a multi-titlist. I think that's where the acclaim stops on a wordwide level.

hmm i answerd No even though im a big hatton fan, his wins against tszyu, was very impressive, but if he had fought, a few different fighters in witter, bradley, torres, before a pac fight and won i would say he would be worthy. but he has generated one of the big boxing fanbase's, but so has chris john in indonesia, so that really cancels itself out

I think he should make it.

-UD over former World LWW Champ Phillips
-TKO of regning undisputed LWW champ and top3 P4P-er Tszyu (who just returned with a stellar KO over Mitchell, Tszyu heavily favored, only called 'shot' after the fight, Hatton was a heavy underdog)
-KO of reigning LWW champ Maussa
-UD over reigning WW champ Collazo
-UD over regining (now 2-time) LWW champ Urango
-KO over P4P-er Castillo (called 'shot' only after the fight, many favored Castillo to win)
-TKO over reigning champ and The Ring#1 LWW Malignaggi (many favored Malignaggi to win)
-Loss to P4P#1 Mayweather at WW (Floyd heavily favored)
-Loss to P4P#1 Pacquiao at LWW (PacMan heavily favored)

    -Reigning lineal/undisputed/world LWW champ 2005-2009
    -Alphabet WW champion (2007)
    -Record vs. P4P-ers: 2-2
    -Record vs. world champions: 7-2

-one of the most accomplished British boxer ever
-one of the most popular British boxer ever
-one of the most popular boxer of the decade worldwide
-friendly, humorous, down to earth, honest, a bit rude personality, lot of charisma, turned a lot of heads to boxing in fading era

If Olrando Canizales and BArry McGuigan can get in then Hatton should be.

P4Per for half a decade and some excelelnt wins. An ATG +P4Per Tszyu and some other very good wins .
