The Ring: "Hatton's Record Simply Isn't Hall Of Fame Worthy"

Pretty much my views on it.

 

Im not a fan of hatton but i do think thats a bit harsh. If u read out his accomplishments and then look at his resume on paper. Id probably think ud have to go with him.

 

On record alone he probably falls a baw hair short, but the thousands at the weigh ins etc. i reckon will push him over

 

I really liked the guy, remember the Tszyu and Mayweather fights well, he was a good fighter. But he just seemed to lose something after the Tszyu fight, never the same fighter again. One great fight does not a HOF make, so i voted no

 

Hatton isn't good enough to be in the Hall of Fame, I hope he never enters it. He fought absolutely no one in his prime and when he did step up he was ktfo with authority. The same goes for Calzaghe, except all his notable wins were against faded HoF.

De la Hoya - apart from Vargas what guys did he beat in their prime and he's a definite to get in.

Even my beloved Pacman, :scaredas: most of his big wins were guys whos best days were behind them.

Thats not cherry picking or calling them bad fighters that's just boxing.

 

his record by itself won't make him hof worthy, but throw in the huge following (doesn't he hold the record for the biggest number of supporters following one man overseas or somethin?) and he should be considered a hof'er

 

hahhaha by my standards he doesn't get in and thats from before the Pac fight but I remember when Buffer said "With they places secured in the hall of fame" or something of the sort. Now that Pac knocks him out its like "Hatton sucks!"

I voted yes but actually no ... he has a bit of a ways to go ... he has to stay active, maybe win another championship or two and then ride off into the sunset. He better do it fast, that division is on the rise.

 

I Agree with this post:good......Hatton was very good at his weight/reign for a very weak era.....Hatton to me is a sure hall of famer, and its not even close.....

Had to think about it but yes, this is the hall of fame not top 100 or the like. Similar situation as naz. Borderline on record but one of the most popular and famous boxers in the world, big celebrities in the UK.
