"There's something unseemly about Chad Dawson taunting and calling out the 45-year-old Bernard Hopkins. Sure, it gets frustrating when a fighter can't find those big money matchups, but at this stage of his career, Hopkins shouldn't be subjected to the same matchmaking rules as everyone else. The fact that he can fight anyone at all is a miracle."

The sooner Chad realizes there's less than zero chance Hopkins will fight him, the better off he'll be. That's one gravy train that's left the station, and it ain't coming back.

Its hard to take the mag as as not being one-sided ever since it became the golden boy press

    No.

It's not as if Hopkins fights like most 45 year olds, and is just living off his name.

Hopkins can still fight, and Dawson-Hopkins is one of the most interesting fights that can be made at LHW.

Its not Golden Boy bias, its philadelphia bias. The mag is based there, and they love Hops to death.

Im sick of Hops age being used as a crutch. If youre too old, then dont claim to be a top fighter, and get him off of the Ring lists.

Dawson has a title shot against Pascal in June I think, so provided Dawson wins and Hopkins hasn't got other plans, that might be incentive for Hopkins to fight him. I could understand calling out Hopkins if he held a title, but he doesn't. It's stupid to call him out in that case, why not man up, go pick yourself up a title, and establish yourself as the man to beat rather than running your mouth?

The biggest fear for me is that Johnson will beat Cloud, forcing us to watch Dawson vs. Johnson III.

a fighter can call out anyone he pleases. except fighters too far from your weight class or fighters 2 levels below or above you. hopkins is neither.

dawson can do whaterver he wants.

WHy are you bringing up titles like they mean jack ****? Dawson is the rightful owner of the WBC and IBF titles. Anyone who doesnt think Dawson isnt the #1 light heavy b/c he doesnt have a title is brain dead.

Hopkins at 175 is a fraud. Yes, he's a legend and all that, but all the cherrypicking people accuse Mayweather of doing, Hopkins is much worse.

Dawson is the obvious top fighter in the division and Hopkins rarely will say his name, but he'll never fight him because he can't win.

And The Ring is sore because it's obvious that Hopkins is ducking Dawson -- even they don't deny it. But as long as Bernard continues to put his fights on PPV and talk a big game, he's going to be expected to back it up.

And he's not, as much as his fanbois at the Ring fantasize otherwise.

Dawson should fight the guys like Cloud, Diaconu, Pascal or Erdei
to clean out division and build his name.

He got gift from Adamek to join his voluntary defense but he fails to fight his
own madarories instead he is partying with the guys like Johnson and Tarver who
both are 41, then he is targeting Hopkins who is closer to 50 than 40.

    This.

Dawson can afford to ignore Hopkins and clean up the guys who are legitimate contenders. Hopkins won't be around forever, and beating him won't be the greatest accomplishment for Dawson. 20 years from now, nobody is going to be complaining that Dawson and Hopkins never fought. They have a huge age difference and the potential to make the most boring fight in history.

My point with the titles was that by actually picking one or two of them up, Dawson can lure people into fights. He's basically trying to ride the perception of him as the best, but with guys like Hopkins it's going to take more than that to get them into the ring.

Yeah, because all those titles Roy Jones holds were the big attraction in Hopkins choosing to fight him.

    Grow a ****ing brain.

    Here's a rundown for you:

Dawson is fighting Pascal in June.

Erdei is the epitome of a protected fighter and no one respects him. He's also winding down.

Cloud would have the fight, but he turned down an offer to fight on an HBO undercard to lock into the winner of Dawson/Johnson II. His team is dumb.

Dawson was set to fight Diaconu, but Diaconu pulled out. And he's now 0-2 against Pascal, the guy Dawson is fighting this summer.

Tarver and Johnson were top 5 guys in the division when Dawson took them on, just like Hopkins is. It's not his fault the division is devoid of young talent.

100% agree and anyone that doesn't is a noob or a piece of trash. The man is 45 is possibly the most dangerous sport in the world competing and scaring away young opponents. If that's not impressive then surely the trailer park trash online community have run out of beer.
