Ward is an incredibly skilled fighter he schooled Froch and now just unseated a light heavy killer. If your fan of fury not sure how you wouldnt appreciate a slick inside fighter like Ward.

Nearly everyone has Gonzalez winning. And i'd say the vast majority had Kovalev winning, so I don't think that's an acurate statement.

I think Gonzalez could've made easy work of it if he took 3 tune-ups in his new weight class like Ward did.

Why would the p4p top 10, and most certainly top 5, ranking list be affected in ANY way by the likes of Ward and Kovalev?
    Neither belong there in fairness.

This is what happens when you have 2 truly elite fighters that are evenly matched fight each other. It's not going to be spectacular because it's a chess match. If you want to see one-sided wins, match them up with B-level fighters.

We have a lot of great fighters right now. Kovalev, Ward, GGG, Lomachenko, Crawford, Gonzalez, Inoue are all elite and they match up well with the fighters of yesteryear.

Ward, Gonzalez, Kovalev, and Canelo should all be higher P4P than Golovkin, hasn't fought the comp to be up there and always finds a way out of a fight. GG being ducked is the most over hyped idea in the sport the dude doesn't get fights because he thinks he's a mega star and is cheap.

All four of the fighters you mentioned have all done something to land that big fight whether it be weight, money, something..... GG is content weasling out of fights and claiming duck. he really doesn't belong in the P4P list let alone #1 tough fights happen when you fight truly tough fighters GG has the resume of a prospect every prospect looks good fighting bums and cab drivers. You may say well why don't they fight but, when your opponent has an overinflated since of self and is unreasonable when it comes to making fights that's why they don't fight.

Right now top 5 imo is Gonzalaz, Ward , Kovalev, Crawford, and maybe Canelo or Pacquiao, resume and skills these are the best in the sport Lomachenko could creep up into the top 10/5 this weekend though.

Ward didn't win in a fashion that would elevate him to the number one spot. He struggled in a similar manner as Gonzalez did his last fight out, albeit Kovalev is a comparatively tougher opponent than Gonzalez opponent was. If Lomachenko beats Walters impressively on Saturday I will have Lomachenko as my #1 pound for pound guy.

Gonzalez got his azz whooped to a much greater degree and by a lesser fighter. Ward was much more impressive against Kovalev and deserves the #1 spot.

Yeah, there are some circumstances of course - another one may be that, say, a peculiarity of the styles mesh means that a fighter might beat the 'better' P4P guy (assuming they're both on top form) but then lose or be expected to lose to many of the guys he's beat. In general though when I'm talking about P4P the question I'm asking is 'Who would win, right now, if both guys were the same size?' - which is what I believe was the original thought behind the concept, though there's many other ways of looking at it. As for Kovalev - Ward, well yeah, I eagerly await a rematch, but for the time being, if I thought P4P really meant anything, I'd be rating Kovalev just above Andre until such time as they meet again.

Cuadras/Chocolatito was just as close as Kovalev/Ward, the difference being Kovalev is far better than Cuadras.
