For fight of the year it should have gone to a fight without bad judging.

Usyk heads and shoulders above all others.

OMG I'm literally weeping uncontrollably right now, the awards keep rolling in thick and fast for the Usyk God

Boxing News have just awarded him 2018 Fighter of the Year

For those of you who aren't familiar with Boxing News (shame on you) it's like the British equivalent of The Ring Magazine albeit a weekly publication as opposed to a monthly one and it has a much more sophisticated and highbrow readership. It's also the longest-running boxing magazine still in publication, dating back to 1909.

And even more prestigious than that, Kalle Sauerland has publicly stated that the Usyk God is ''one of the nicest fighters he's ever worked with and certainly the most fun.'' To put that into perspective, Kalle is a legit OG who has been in the game since he was sniffing coke in his mother's womb and he's worked with more fighters than Bob Arum and Don King have combined, both of whom are at least five times his age.

    WBO cruiserweight champion

Unified the cruiserweight division in just 15 fights

    Ring Magazine champion
Ranked #4 P4P by The Ring Magazine
Winner of the Muhammad Ali trophy

In just 16 fights The Usyk God has already beaten 5 world champions and 4 undefeated fighters, 3 of whom were world champions and the other one is clearly world champion material and he beat them all in their backyards!

My boy Dre from Oakland only beat 6 in 32 fights and Terry ''Bud'' Crawford also beat 6 in 34 fights and of the combined 12 champions they faced only 1 was fought outside the US (Burns)

ESPN Fighter of the Year (2018)
Sports Illustrated Fighter of the Year (2018)
Boxing News Fighter on the Year (2018)

Won all his world titles in his opponent's backyards and hasn't had a single home country ref or judge for any of his world title fights.

All bar 1 of his 7 world title fights fought in his opponent's backyards and the only one that was on neutral soil.

    All hail the Usyk God!

Well deserved! He earned all his accolades

Not some ****** little deck stacker that has to resort to “Tainted Meat” and ask his ‘promoter’ to make sure the judges protect him to aid in stealing GGG’s belts.

To be fair to said deck stacker, they should really have given him the Robbery of the Year award for 2018

    Usyk deserves it.

If Fury hadn't gotten up, I'd say Wilder should've taken it (with KOs over the undefeated Ortiz and Fury).

    But Fury did.

I don't think GGG-Canelo was Fight of the Year. I enjoyed Takam-Chisora a lot more, and I've shown that to a few people who really got into it as well. Plus, the ending was much more conclusive. Takam and Chisora just wailed on each other round after round.

ou know Mark I actually feel sorry fir Canelo Oscar and Vegas corruption have made Canelo a very rich young man BUT they have destroyed his credibility as a boxing champion. CANELO CAN fight !!Q! but they have made him appear a cowardly n cheating ped;s abuser. Even his own Mexican fans turned on him Canelo fought well against GGG BUT NOT WELL ENOUGH TO LEGITIMALLY BEAT HIM. He knows that Canelo will never get the recognition his boxing skill deserves , Oscar knows that Hell the whole boxing world knows that Its really a shame

Canelo v GGG wasn't fight of the year.

Decent enough fight but lacked the drama & momentum swings of some of the h/w action.

Usyk deserved the top gong although I'd like to see him fight first division from now on.
