You don't know how I couldn't believe I wasn't gonna go. Remember, I was coming back from vacation in Maine that day of the fight, a 7 hr drive back to NJ, then 2 more hrs to AC??? I figured it would be too much. And I didn't want to cut the vacation short by a day. Then, I figured I could do it, running on adrenaline all day & night. So I asked a friend if he was interested in going (same guy I went to see Golota vs Ruiz in MSG), he said yeah & I guess about August 20th or so, I ordered (2) $200 seats. That young Witherspoon HW came right by us to see friends of his, I forget his first name. A night I shall NEVER forget. Very electric. Things seemed to be going very fast, I was nervous as hell. When KP almost blew it, I felt like I did for Golota vs Brewster. But he hung in there. He's tough as nails. Couldn't believe he survived. Couldn't believe he won the next round! But this is Kelly Pavlik we're talking about here. He got right back into a groove & did what he does best... This has to be a very regional thing (don't know where you live bro) but no damn rite aid or Winco around my area at all has **** on boxing mags.
Yeah dude, in round 2 when I saw Pav going down, it was like my life flashing before my eyes (but really it was my life as a Pavlik die hard) and I really almost felt sick (immediately thinkin of ESB and everyone was gonna say he really was some "white Hope" and a "Fraud" etc). But yeah KP got up, survived (and it's underated the onslaught JT poured on after he got up, people say 1 big shot and KP would have been done) but KP did take several more MONSTER SHOTS after he got up and still survived and came out in the 3rd like nothing happend. Go KP!! $200 dollar seats sounds like pretty good ones, how was the view and how close were you actually to the ring??
i live in the SF bay area it's pretty easy to find it they usally put it out like 1or 2 weeks in advance:good
From where I was standing (this is after the fight) I'd say about another 30 ft away, so maybe 80 ft from the ring? This content is protected You know, I didn't take one action shot during the fight!:nut But I got some between rounds & before it started. Let me see what I can find. Heres a great one. Smoger telling him before the action began, "no matter what, your not gettin' TKO'ed!" This content is protected I took alot of pic's of the large TV screens above the ring. Heres what we hoped for!
