I think its fair to say a position is vacant if the two best fighters in the world have yet to face each other. I think by saying it is vacant gives credibility to both Floyd and Manny. But my reasons would be that Floyd is too inactive and that Manny really lost to JMM and didnt give an auto rematch.
Missing the point of the thread as well? Rankings were already the way they were. Their decision not to change anything despite an official Pacquiao loss speaks volumes on how big a robbery Pacquiao-Bradley was. It's also my way of giving happy news to Floyd fans for today who expected Pac to drop in the P4P rankings. Anything to make them feel better while they await Floyd's release from jail.
We don't need the ring's ranking to tell us who's better. Anyone that knows boxing knows PBF is the better and more complete boxer.
Floyd is the p4p best right now, that much is obvious. Pac looked terrible in that fight, robbed or not. Everything that made him Pacquiao just was not there. We talk about his incredible footspeed, relentlessness, killer instinct, workrate...all were mia.
So when Floyd Hopkins didn't face each other when they were 1-2....:huh:think That isn't how the rankings work. Whatever it may be, you can clearly see the difference in each fighters game. Pac has bunches and bunches of flaws which Marquez exposed, while Floyd has very few flaws.
lol. Since coming out of retirement he fought Marquez and Mosley in a 7 month period. He fought Ortiz and Cotto in a 7 month period. He fought Oscar and Hatton in a 7 month period before that. Are you talking calendar year? That has nothing to do with anything. They don't have seasons in boxing man.:bart
Didn't fight anyone out of the top 3 in his division and/or top 10 pound for pound. Manny fought 6 rated Clottey 6 rated Mosley and non ranked Margarito.
