    Aye

but it was a British fighter involved so that was our fight of the year by most outlets.

    :good

Nice fight but FOTY? Come on! It was entertaining but also pretty sloppy with a guy looking 3 divisons bigger (I bet he was by fight weight) beating on an aging small fighter with no pop who with reasonable amount of power could've knocked Segura out the way he left himself wide open. It was the fight to fight from Giovanni's standpoint make no mistake, but there were much better and more even brawls, take Cazares-Nashiro or Escalante-Roman for an example, but there was Marquez-Katsidis and Kessler-Froch as well as Khan-Maidana, another very good one which isn't FOTY worthy. My vote goes with Cazares-Nashiro II.

So british boxing only chooses between fights where british fighters are involved to decide the fight of the year no matter where they take place. What about a fight that takes places in britain with no british fighter would that be considered as a candidate or not.
