Even before Matrinez - Williams, Pavlik was my choice to win. I think Williams does fine for a few rounds, but I would not be surprised if Pav ends it late.

At 160 I'd also pick David Lopez and Felix Sturm over Williams. Paul simply does not do well with guys who have boxing skills, and didn't just come off a 2 year hiatus.

When the Pavlik-Williams fight was being talked about I said needed to see Williams in with a puncher before I was really confident in picking him over Kelly. It didn't even take that because Martinez isn't a puncher and he hurt Williams.

I actually feel bad for Paul that he can't get the fights at 147 that he deserves. But I blame Goosen more than anything. He should have kept Paul at 147 with a belt and the fights would eventually have come. HBO would have pretty much insisted. Instead he decided to shop him around in higher divisions trying to earn some fast money.

Agreed. Williams is no slick rick but Pavliks lack on speed and fighting in straight lines is still a major factor which has to be taken into consideration.

You don't give me much to disagree with.

i don't see Williams getting stopped any time soon but Pavlik can outpoint him if he hurts him which wouldn't surprise me too much

Williams got caught with a big shot he didnt see coming lets all relax. He got up and wasnt badly hurt. Pavlik isnt a huge one punch KO artist mostly because you can see his punches coming. And Martinez also hit Williams with everything he had for the rest of the fight and never came close to dropping Williams again.

    Eat **** and die ******...

When has Williams ever shown a suspect chin. He was KD once in his entire career. HE was caught flush in the first, and took several bombs and never flinched.

Your ***** ass don't know **** about chins except that yours probably has nutz on them.

This is true, look at Margo for example he remained patient and the big fights eventually came. You just need to keep doing your thing and beat what's in front of you and eventually there will be no avoiding you.

good point hermit, you and boo are bang on in this thread. i like williams and i think he's a tremendous fighter with a nice future. just not so nice at middleweight if he fights pavlik

as has been said, martinez will be more of a struggle than williams. but once (or if) pavlik gets past him he'll destroy williams in a shootout

What was he stripped of? His middleweight title was not on the line at LHW.
