ODLH was better at 154 when he fought Floyd than he was at 135? Really?

...Shane Mosley was a FAR better 135-pounder than he was a 38-year-old welterweight and that 38-year-old welterweight had Floyd in significant enough trouble early on.

And how much better do you think Armstrong is than Castillo? Rhetorical question Farley. And while Castillo is a bigger he only has a 2 inch reach advantage on Armstrong.

There seems to be an under-toning bias toward your wording when dealing with fighters you like. You'll talk about Joe Louis being robbed against Walcott and saying that the decision in his fights against Godoy was controversial (Hardly anymore controversial than Mayweather's second fight against Castillo or fight against Oscar). But you can't even say that Castillo beat Mayweather. If Castillo can beat Mayweather, Armstrong certainly can regardless of how much "bigger" Castillo is since Armstrong is far better.

One of the more ridiculous things you've spouted. Completely unfounded, it would be like saying Mayweather never fought Pavlik. By the time Armstrong completed his trifecta Burley was starting to fight MWs. Routinely fighting guys bigger than himself like Cocoa Kid, Lloyd Marshall, Ezzard Charles, and Archie Moore. Armstrong wasn't fighting guys above the WW limit. As for Holman Williams, he lost out twice for the colored title against Cocoa Kid. I guess Armstrong could have fought Cocoa Kid but it wasn't like he was fighting slacks. Cocoa Kid didn't have his best stretch at that time period either.

Mayweather as of now has blatantly ducked Pacquaio. No fight that was too big or worth too much money was a fight that Armstrong ducked out on. Mayweather also didn't fight Cotto or Margarito. Instead he took on Super Zab Judah, Baldomir, and Oscar (Yeah I know more money).

He was inexperienced, fought short, was easier to hit and basically raw

    1. Yes he is but strength/size are 2 of the most important aspects to pressure fighting. Armstrong himself went life and death with Ambers and Zivic, neither in FMJs class. Armstrong just wasn't as good as people round here think

    2. I've seen Mayweather-Castillo 1 numerous times, mayweather won, Castillo admitted to giving the early rounds away, you can easily score the first 5 to FMJ, the only reason its so controversal is the hate for Floyd on these forums.

And wait Mayweather-Castillo 2 is controversal  And I'm biased

    3. Burley was a top WW beating up on Zivic when Armstrong was champ, they faced Zivic instead, Armstrong's management kept him away from Burley no doubt about it although Zivic's management buying out Burley's contract certainly didn't help.

Burley/Cocoa Kid were both the coloured WW champion when Armstrong was the WW Champ

The three guys who had Mosley's number all had great jabs (Winky, Forrest, PBF). The only other guy Mosley fought with an exceptional jab was DLH, who didn't like using it but still deserved the decision in the rematch.

The Mayweather fight can't totally be written off based on age since Mosley was pfp no. 3, behind PBF, and the welterweight champion.

If you ask me if I'd rather be a lightweight against the lightweight version of ODLH or a LMW against the LMW version of ODLH that Floyd fought...no question whatsoever which I'd pick. None. Not a split second of doubt.

And the 24yo LW Mayweather was much faster with better reactions than the 33yo WW Mayweather Mosley fought

Your ignoring the fact Mayweather was basically a 140lber fighting an ex-MW champ. At lightweight he has all the advantages. 154lb Oscar was more skilled, 135lb was faster/primed

Mayweather was not at a comfortable weight when he fought DLH either.

I said "can't totally be written off." I have no problem with partially writing it off.

Yeah, Mayweather and Mosley were both at the same stage of decline when they fought. Because of all that damage both face-first fighters had taken. It's a different fight at 135. I'm not saying Mosley would win and wouldn't favor him but...it's a different fight, best for best at that weight.
