Didn't realize you were one and the same.

I think I found some more stuff if I can dig it up off my old computer. Nothing ground breaking but of some interest.

As a Mexican American Surf Bat did a great service to my people. The next goat that is born shall be named after him.

They sure got Langford right ....

Where is John L. ? Choynski flat out said Sully was a much bigger hitter than he was ...

Where is the outcry from the Carnera fans ? Surely since he was legit with that many KO's he merits consideration .. :)

John L. was disqualified from consideration.

Carnera is with Alex Stewart and Don Steele.

I agree with you for the most part. I think Johansson was better than hes given credit for. He was flawed but not nearly as bad as some remember him today. I also agree that he was worse after becoming champion. Its pretty well established that he didnt prepare nearly as well as champion as he did on the way up. Now, that being said, I think the second Patterson fight shows that Patterson wasnt as bad, or chinny, as some claim. When he was motivated he was dangerous as hell (see Johannsons quivering leg). I think the best Patterson beats the best Johannson but as I said his power could turn that prediction on its head. Johannson's problem was, like another famous european fighter I pick on a lot, that his entire fight plan was centered on landing his right hand. It made him very predictable and even that punch was often delivered in a seemingly slow and awkward manner (which is one of the reasons why the results it got are so eye popping). I think thats why its easy to favor a lot of guys against him head to head, its easy for a lot of people to take him for granted, and what makes him kind of a wild card. I mean, Id favor Liston to easily take him apart but if Liston ran into one of those right hands I could see him counting sheep in a hurry. I think it takes some of the greatest chins of all time to walk through a couple of shots from Johannson. Sonny had a good chin but it wasnt bullet proof and if Ingo got past that ridiculously long jab and landed something it could alter the whole course of the fight. I dont think that would happen but it could.

Hal Hoshino was an American-born fight who had the nickname, "The Japanese Sandman," while he was active during the 1930s and 1940s. For a time, he was considered by some as one of the hardest-hitting featherweights who ever lived.

Did we miss Charles Ledoux or am I overrating him?
