Thanks, man. This is a serious problem for boxing, no doubt. The article says it only takes 2 days to eliminate EPO from your body. The drug testing offered by the WBC only requires 2 days for a boxer to show up to the test, plenty of time for the boxer to eliminate EPO from his/her body. Who knows how many boxers are using it.

Its disturbing! if they start make the same research about this problem in boxing, as they did in Tour de france etc! many more names would probably pop up.. but hopefully not! I certainly hope atleast boxing is, and will stay drugfree..

EPO is popular in athletics and amongst cyclists. Its also VERY dangerous. Not news really to be honest. And to be frank i doubt its as popular as is mooted in boxing. Other steroids yes but not EPO. So much has been made of Shanes apparent taking of EPO but its clearly obvious from his performance in the second DLH fight that the effects of EPO were clearly NOT apparent IF he was on it.

Mate EPO is boxing now i truely believe it.

I mean they need blood tests to find EPO not just your usual Urine test.

Im not having a go at Mosley himself more so the Boxing Comissions coming together to get better testing.

Boxers i feel should be tested at any time at any stage of there career.

    Like all Olympic athletes are.

Boxers i feel never get tested enough.

Cost. And how many guys are going to want to give a blood sample for a hormone test? Its simply not a cheap or conventional method. The only real test that works is to take a sample of hair. But that is ubber expensive. Even testing a blood sample for EPO can lead to false positives.

I doubt they really care. If they did the WBC wouldnt have awarded Jones there belt back in late 98 when Rocchigiani was champ. They then nearly went under and filed for Chapter 11 because of the fine they had to pay after he sued them succesfully. Not long after that Jones was apparently found guilty of taking hormones which were attributed to supplement Hyrdoxycut. Richard Hall was also found on them. Nothing was done. Jones wasnt stripped and the sanctioning bodies dont care. Unless its the WBA of course and your names James Toney :yep

I think they dont care because it creates more news for boxing even if that news is bad.

Blood doping is EXTREMELY dangerous and in some cases can lead to fatalities which it has done in the past.
