The Rings rankings are starting to make the WBA look logical.

Proska (unranked at the time) replaced Sylvester (number four at the time) when the Pole beat him.

Hope (unranked at the time) does not replace anybody in the Top 10 even after beating Proska (number four).

Sylvester drops out of the rankings outright after losing against Proska.

Proska drops to number 10 after being defeated by someone outside the Top 10 (and probably outside the top 30).

    Strange.

But what kind of interest or vested stake do they have in a Matchroom fighter?

So Proksa is still ahead of Hope? Silly, I thought Proksa won and it was probably a bit flukey but Hope won, it wasn't a massive robbery that would justify keeping Proksa ahead.

People are better off steering clear of looking at the rankings too much you'll just get annoyed....often!

It's not the vested interest, it's just they're fools who rank based on playing favourites rather than any clear criteria. The MW rankings are great fun. Macklin had a top ten ranking for losing to Sturm, Barker didn't merit a place despite being competitive with Martinez, Murray was ranked after drawing with Sturm, Chavez is somehow top three despite beating no one of any real note, Pirog's at five for beating a green prospect, etc...

    It's just a pile of utter ****.

There pretty awful around, but I'd say junior middle has been the worst in the past few years. At the beginning of 2011, they had Kermit Cintron as the top fighter in the division and today Vanes Martirosyan is at 3. I also enjoyed how Paul Williams beating unranked Ishida lets him enter at 7 and knocks Delvin Rodriguez, who had just beat the ranked Wolak, off the list.

Finally, Golden Boy fighter Lara getting robbed against Willilams lets him jump the guy he himself had just gotten a gift draw against and did not result in Williams getting ranked; the official result was essentially ignored.. Yet when non-Golden Boy fighters Chisora and Campillo were robbed just as blatantly, the official results were treated as sacred.

It was poor under Nigel Collins too, but somehow that dick Rosenthal made it worse. Just bad journalists and lazy too.
