Nice! It would have been a crime if Usyk didn’t get FOTY. Let’s see if that skank bimbo from the ESPN show ‘Fair Game’ has him on in the near future considering he was the TOP most impressive boxer of the year.

 

Sorry, I was having some internet problems and the post didn't look like it had gone through, so I kept hitting the post button.

 

Were Floyd vs De La Hoya, Floyd vs Pacquiao, or Floyd vs MacGregor the fight of the year? No, because biggest doesn't mean best. There's already an award for the event of the year, and those stool pushers gave it to HBO getting out of the boxing business.

I'll take that. Don't think Canelo GGG 2 was the best fight of the year.

Stupid examples, those weren’t great fights, Canelo/GGG was a great high level fight with back and fourth action. DLH/Mayweather are you serious? What point were you trying to make with this?

 

They were the biggest events of their year but not the best fights. Canelo/GGG was the biggest event of the year but not the best fight. If you want to give them biggest event, then fine, I'd agree with you; but you'd have to take it away from HBO leaving boxing.

As badly as I want to give HBO leaving boxing an award, for finally putting that sick mutt Lampley down, that's not what the ****ing award is for. Did we give ESPN the award last year for firing Atlas? It wasn't an event. When Ali died it was an important milestone for boxing but it wasn't the "EVENT OF THE YEAR." For ****s sake! Channels have gotten out of the boxing business after running things for decades before. If you still want to give HBO an award for leaving the goddamn business, how about you give them Most Inspirational? Or give Showtime Upset of the Year if we're treating the business side of things with the same respect we give to the actual competitions.

We could throw in little additional awards for the various sideshows. Canelo can get his Highest Earner or Biggest Robbery award. Broner could get Biggest Heel. Fury could get Best Trash Talker. You know, the ones people actually care about. Joshua would get a little statue for evading VADA another year...

 

Good list. I tihnk the only catagory that seriously had competition was fight of the year and Canelo GGG 2 has as good a shout as the other contenders. Fury Wilder Rd 12 was story book stuff glad that got the award for round of the year.
