I am just happy HBO has him hooked up with a commentary job so we dont have to worry about the great Jones winding up broke like so many ex greats!

He could still easily squander his earnings, even middle-aged. It's not just the young bucks that are impetuous. :yep

Dunno why this myth took hold, dunno why it's sticking. RJJ wasn't all athleticism, dude was monstrously skilled and would absolutely destroy guys on the inside as well as take them apart from the outside. Watch the Merqui Sosa fight. Ask ANY fighter. RJJ forgot more about boxing technique and traps than most fighters will ever know.

As we saw in the Lacy fight, Roy still had his hand-speed. It was certainly faster than most people out there today. But unfortunately his other attributes – stamina, bounce in the legs, reflexes and general sharpness – deteriorated considerably after the Ruiz fight. It was incredible how much that weight loss took out of him.

Lou Del Valle knocked Roy down in his Prime get outta here with this ****. Roy Jones is a Glass Jawed fraud who handpicked opponents and maneuvered through weight classes avoiding the best challengers in the process. His whole career was smoke and mirrors. I mean you seriously think his dancing and taunting in the ring is impressive when he was fighting off duty cops, sanitation workers, and mailmen?:rofl:patsch

    Jones had no Chin. None.

He didnt get knocked out until his FIFTIETH fight, after he had been numerous weight world champ and had beaten Toney,Hopkins,Hill etc(i.e. not off duty cops)

Hes was 35 before he ever got knocked out.

He has been stopped a total 0f THREE TIMES in SIXTY FIGHTS!

Amazing that it had to take so many years and fights for people to smash that chin.
