He was Superman. Some fighters get knocked out and they are never the same. The Johnson right hand grazed Jones shoulder before it hit his head. Johnson is not a monster puncher.
He was lightning fast as a amatuer, olympics, 154, 160, and 168. If he used anything, it had to be for the Ruiz fight.
Hopkins, Toney, Telesco, Hill, Ruiz, Byrd, etc. Who fights the best every time out? I have yet to see anyone match that speed and power for a MW or SMW. You only see that in lighter divisions.
Best highlight. Compared to today's 2 fighters, I think Jones' is pretty underrated as an ATG resume wise. There might have been 2 or 3 fights we would have liked to have seen but otherwise his resume is still solid.
he used mackie shilstone who is a great strength conditioning coach, he didn't use him to come down in weightatsch

Man I tell you what... before that Ruiz fight, NOBODY wanted to see Roy Jones Jr in the ring. Not Tarver Not Glen Johnson Not Hopkins Not Calzaghe and DEFINITELY NOT DANNY GREEN OR DENIS LEBEDEV! Tarver can talk all of the trash he wants to but he would have been embarrassed by a prime Roy. I've always wondered why Roy didn't make Tarver meet him at cruiserweight instead of losing all of that muscle to get back down to Light Heavy.
