World Middleweight Boxing Champion, Tasmanian, Daniel Geale has backed V8 Supercars, throwing his personal support behind the state’s largest sporting event, the Tasmania Microsoft Office 365, April 5-7.

As one of the country’s best boxers, Geale will be taking his family to the event next week, joining fans who have flocked for tickets, as V8 Supercars looks to a third successive massive crowd following the huge numbers at the Clipsal 500 and the Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

The bravery of Daniel Geale, the IBF middleweight champion, is again on display after he walked away from a fight against WBO champion Dmitry Pirog to fight the division's longest reigning titleholder, WBA super champion Felix Sturm.

Sturm not only has a pulse, he is one of the division's best.
This is a great victory for Australian fight fans and a greater credit to Geale, who has bypassed the celebrity boxing circuit now favoured by so many Aussie boxers to make real fights.

Unlike other opponents being found for Australian fighters, Sturm doesn't wake each morning with a promoter standing next to his bed, testing his breath with a hand mirror to make sure he is still alive.

I've heard Sam Soliman's 'B' sample will very likely be opened and tested this week. Then finally Grange can get down to the serious business of signing Daniel Geale's next title defence.

WBO #12 ranked Darren Barker's name is being mentioned as a possible next opponent for Daniel Geale. Engishman Barker is 25-1 and that loss was to Martinez.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said today at the Ricky Burns vs Jose "Chelo" Gonzalez press conference that he is in deep discussions with Gary "Site Fees" Shaw & seemed confident that Daniel Geale vs Darren Barker would be made.

I would expect a decent $ offer from Eddie Hearn for it to be held in the UK...Gary Shaw does like easy $ without any promoting.

Martinez, Barker and now Quillin have all been mentioning Daniel Geale as a possible opponent.
