I think RJJ could beat any post prison version of Tyson by running away and clowning until he flips. Pre prison though hes going down hard.
I see a prime Tyson knocking out Roy Jones Jr inside 2 rounds. As soon as Iron Mike lands, it's over and it wouldn't take him longer than 6 minutes to catch up with Jones.
Before Jones' coming down from heavyweight fiasco, most people would have said that Jones would dance circles around Tyson all night, and I still think that, even a prime Tyson would first have to get near a prime Jones. Jones UD, wide!
:good I can't fault your logic and I find it surprising that many think otherwise!! RJJ was a supremely gifted fighter, wonderful to watch, but "Prime" Tyson was a wrecking machine! A hyper aggressive, truly devastating puncher who also possessed extremely fast hands and feet!! Tyson would have caught up with Jones pretty damn quickly and left Roy unconscious when he did!! Stylistically this could be the worst match up in history for any version of Roy!!
Imo there is no way that Jones avoids Tyson for 36 minutes. You'd need a ring the size of Wembley for that to happen!!. There is no way any fighter could have avoided Tyson for 12 rounds, that is imo impossible. And when Tyson does hit Jones, be it in the first minute or any following, that is the end of the fight, because even if Tyson somehow only stuns Jones, Mike was a brutally efficient finisher!!
I wouldn't laugh at you mate, I rate Tyson very highly, but I do consider you to be wrong regarding the Prime Tyson-Vs-Prime (60's) Ali match-up. But hey, we disagree, this forum would be shite if we all agreed on everything!!
I didnt mean to cause offence, but it is a "daft" question then, a natural middleweight against "arguably" in his prime the greatest heavyweight ever?? And rjj is one of my fav fighters too, so I wouldnt saying i was being biased
No, just no. Dancing around John Ruiz is completely different, we're talking night and day between that and Tyson. Tyson would have no respect for him.
Prime Tyson would have been too aggressive for Ali, Ali had his hands totally full with Frazer, and Tyson was far faster and harder hitting than him
Frazier??? You're not even judging a prime Ali. Ali was past prime, coming off a 3 year layoff for the first fight and still beat Frazier 2 out of 3. It would be like me calling Tyson prime when he fought Holyfield. If you want to compare post prime careers, while Ali was beating Frazier/ Foreman/ Shavers Tyson was on his show tour fighting Saravese/ Francis/ Neilson. No way would an "on top" fighter like Tyson beat a prime Ali.
