Clearly, Roy ha stop avoid Deontay's big right.

    Can he ?

    How does this unfold ?

(Also, please consider how the outcome might be affected by Wilder having Norman Stone in his corner).

He could possibly decision him if he could stay away but Jones wasn't really a heavyweight. Also, RJJ cherry-picked Ruiz but the Jones of that fight was beginning to show slippage due to age. I believe Wilder catches him at some point and does what Tarver did.

Ruiz was a weak-mediocre champion (lost to Kobozev, Nicholson, smoked by Tua, SD over Jimmy Thunder, should have lost the trilogy fight to a washed 39 year old Holyfield) who was only 8 lbs above the LHW limit at 20.75 and had a 65% KO ratio when he faced Jones (with 16 of Ruiz's prior 43 opponents being cruisers or LHW's).

14 months later Jones got sparked out in the 2nd round by Tarver: a LHW with a 74% KO ratio.

Ruiz: 6'2, 78 inch reach vs Wilder: 6'7, 83 inch reach

"Jones landed 134 of 424 punches (32%) and Ruiz connected on 89 of 433"

Wilder is much faster than Ruiz as well as physically and mentally tougher. Sooner or later he'd land and KO Jones, who according to Ruiz wasn't as fleet of foot as the agile David Haye.

This is a true battle of extremes. Roy was smart and quick enough to neutralize a fighter who only had 1 money punch, but you have to imagine he'd get hit at some point and take it worse than much bigger guys did. Wilder is also much taller, unlike Ruiz, which would complicate things for Roy; I'd lean towards him getting clipped after some masterful boxing.

Roy would be beating him worse than Fury was probably even hurting him or knocking him down, and then Wilder would land once and it's nighty night Roy.

I think it would be a very frustrating fight for Wilder, getting clowned for half the fight until he suddenly lands.
RJJ was never a Heavyweight, he just saw an opportunity with huggie bear and took it.

Man you guys are really underrating Wilder. He was a cherry picking can crusher but the man has power and size. He would be outboxed until he landed a big shot on Roy and knock him out brutally. I love Roy but he’s way too small for Wilder. Ruiz was a bum. Beating him doesn’t make a guy a legit HW.

Who broke a glass on this boxing canvas?

Wilder would take out both of them on the same night without issue.

Wilder has power to knock out old men and tomato cans. That being said he is still a heavyweight and fought his whole career at heavyweight. Jones Jr would try to run and get knocked out when the first half way decent punch Wilder lands.

Roys wins, anyone half decent beats Wilder as we have seen.
