The Road Warrior James DeGale has been shamefully overlooked for this years FOTY

What a year its been for Chunky, wins the belt going away against Dirrell and then defends it against Bute in his backyard. Oddly he seems to get no love for such an outstanding 12 months.

Most people on here voted for GGG as FOTY but lets be honest, he hasn't got a win on his resume as good as either Dirrell/Bute, let alone two in one year. Why doesn't JDG get a fair shake? In my eyes he is a clear #2 right behind The Furious One.

This reflects very badly on todays boxing fans. Too many fanboys and not enough recognition for real achievements.

I quite like Chunky's old school attitude of defending his title in the opponent's backyard. This doesn't happen enough these days, IMO.

Would like to see him try and unify world titles at 168.

The one thing that concerns me about James, is his propensity to lay back on the ropes for spells in rounds, and to do it repeatedly in fights.

Huge huge gift,!!!! Hell, froch wasn't even in that fight, was a total mismatch in which he survived a beating en route to getting the biggest gift I can remember off the top of my head

He had a pretty good year. If he had the chance to unify one of the belts at 68 instead of fighting a very past-it Bute, he'd be on the top of my list.

DeGale's achievements do seem to have been largely overlooked.

No he hasn't. Dirrelevant and Bute arent foty worthy wins. not a bad year by any stretch but come on. clearly behind several guys.

Dirrelevant? Most voted for GGG, Dirrell is levels above anyone Golovkins fought in the pros. Beat him in the AMs infact.

Lets keep it 100, beating Dirrell and Bute is way more impressive than Murray, Lemieux and Monroe.

Not by much. and GGG dominated those guys, completely schooled and battered them. where as Degale struggled. quantity and performance strongly favors GGG.
