Firstly, how many times do you believe he has been robbed? Secondly, do you think judges literally make a decision before hand NOT to vote in his favor if he doesnt knock the guy out? That conspiracy theory seems far-fetched, but SOMETHING has to be up with that consistent trend.
It's hard to tell how many times exactly he's been robbed, but keep in mind that he's been in some fights that looked to be dives. Some of these robberies might have happened with his consent. I love watching him fight, but I know not to go into a fight looking for a win.
the fact he takes on big names on short notice in showcase fights means fight is probably fixed with the judges he fights to win and loses im sure he has taken dives any journeyman fighting for money and not wanting brain damage can take dives but his career is a big what if what if he was well managed he gave floyd jr a hell of a fight wit ha better corner and better help cpuld he have been good
plain and obvious dive purposely dropped the hands not even hit flush goes down soft prob coulda got up
**** record, **** management poor decisions. I think he just signed to fight a guy way too big for him. Hes just kind of been a prostitute to boxing even though he has some skills.
Throughout his career, Augustus had no decent management. Had he been managed by Frank Warren he'd have retired as an undefeated champion after fighting a multitude of bums followed by defeating past-their-prime champions at the end of his career.
his fighting style is entertaining but not very efficient in terms of winning rounds. anyone just has to watch him go life and death with mickey ward to see how far he could have gone. maybe an alphabet paper champ, but nothing higher.
He's 38-33. Even if you take all his dubious losses and make them wins, he's at best about 51-20 or so. That's a lot of losses because of the way he fights. Don't let the ring antics fool you, he's a brawler without great punching power, so he's going to lose a lot of close fights. Regardless of his record or what people think of his antics, he's one of my all time favorites. His antics were never directed toward or intended to insult an opponent, just to entertain. He's always been a class guy.
Augustus has always been overrated, and I dont care about most his bad decisions, HOWEVER his fight with Courtney Burton was the worst decision Ive ever seen. Augustus literally won every round, and Burton got a UD win.
