He's good at building fighters up and making them money in the easiest fights possible, but to say he's "the best promoter in the world" is exaggerating. Depends on what criteria you use, I guess.
You will say Bob Arum or Oscar De La Hoya I guess which is typical because they are American and therefore get more respect from the fans.If Frank had HBO bankrolling him all these years instead of Sky/Setanta look what he would have done. Golden boy are crap by the way. They dont make stars. They steal them from other promoters.Since the cross dresser started that company they havent created one damn star themselves.:tired Arum is very good though I must admit.
Meh, Oscar De La Hoya isn't the best promoter in any way shape or form. For one, he's the face of Golden Boy, not the brains. But aye - I would say Top Rank Promotions. As well as making themselves and their fighters a helluva lot of money, they deliver a lot of big fights that I - and many others - actually want to see. I'd say Allegedly is still the best British promoter, but I'm glad that others are gaining some momentum as well. The more good promoters, the better. Hope Karpency upsets the apple cart by beating Cleverly though. He's being brought in to get jobbed, so I'd love it - Kevin Keegan style - if he ****ed the Welsh dream match of Cleverly/Enzo up. That's nothing to do with Allegedly though, that's just because I don't like Cleverly.
What exactly is the attraction of this fight then? A "showcase" fight for Cleverley in the second defence of his "world title"?
Anyway.. this thread is going off topic. Tommy Karpency will be a future world champion and all will be proven on Feb 25. There will be no more questions.
I'm moving house in a week and haven't yet decided whether to subscribe to BoxNation. Not that the £10 a month is a big deal, I just don't want to encourage endless mismatches. There needs to be some decent fights on the horizon first.
at this thread. Why the **** not, im paying to see quality fights like this so im rooting for the underdog. :deal :nut
I'd love Karpency to win because Cleverly isn't improving on his skills, hasn't given Bellew a rematch and should never have let his promoter give him this fight.
camp shumenov said karpency is very good. they paid his teams travel expenses several times to spar with biebut. many other champions used karpency for sparring. i am glad you idiots are writing karpency off , just because one fool THINKS he is not good the rest of you sheep follow. how many of you keyboarders ever stepped in the ring. this will be a great fight,to bad such a small venue, it will sell out.
