Hopkins was definitely prepared for a marathon, whereas Jones was content to ride in taxis and then fight the drivers.

And Jones is the 2nd man in over 100 yrs to win titles from middle weight to heavy ..Lets also remember who left the division in order for Hopkins to make those defences ..Running from Hopkins ,Jones offered him 6 mil to fght him after Tito Bhop wanted none of it ! But yet he gave Jones a rematch after he lost a few steps yeah it was obvious who was running from who .."60/40 I'll kick your ass "

Oh, here we go again. If Jones had stayed at middleweight, or if they had met at a catchweight, like Hopkins was calling him out since 97, Jones would have got that chin checked. 'Don't care about Jones running his mouth like he always did.. Hopkins and Tarver both beat him, just like I said way back in 2001. :deal That's all.

Nice accomplishment by Roy, winning a heavy belt, no doubt, but I'd have it like this:
    Hopkins > Jones and Toney

It is kinda hard to think of one of these fighters being better than the other. To keep the comparisons relevant, it would be like comparing Usain Bolt to Kenenisa Bekele. Roy and Bhop both accomplished a lot in their careers, but they were as different as apples and oranges.

Jones H2H skills in his prime were not the same as Bhops. There was daylight between the two. Jones sat above him and all the contemporaries.

Hell, Jones could have beaten Hopkins without putting in 100%.

Hopkins is forging his own path into the history books. It's a different route, and amazing in its own right. But H2H in their primes Jones doesn't just beat him, he does it with ease.

I agree that had Jones retired after the first Tarver fight, no way we would be talking about this now. But by continuing to fight past his prime, he IS hurting his legacy.

this has to be the Hardest rise and fall from a supreme athlete! Hard to watch him fight and just stand there with his hands down not throwing a punches.
