He was unfortunate to box at light heavyweight when there were no worthy opponents in the division but the way he beat each of these guys was superb. Beat prime James Toney, Bernard Hopkins, Antonio Tarver. Was robbed of an Olympic Gold, became heavyweight champion of the world by outclassing and outpunching John Ruiz

The guy is a legend. Show your appreciation right here

    Very, very gifted and talented.

It's a shame to see him the way he is now.

Never seen a legacy ruined in such a way. Was just watching the two griffin fights earlier today...

His speed, reflexes and dexterity were ridiculously good. One of the best of all time without a doubt.

Do you think Roy Jones Jr could have beat Sugar Ray Robinson

probably the most impressive handspeed I have ever seen. Too bad he never wanted to fight the best or look for the best challenges, but he could have beaten them. I saw him fight live in Reno, Nevada in 1992 on the Mancini/Haugen undercard.

A cheating anabolic steroid user who ducked big hitters, folded like a lawn chair when faced with adversity, had no plan B adaptability, and owned one of the worst chins the sport has seen for a generation.

that is a little harsh. But to be honest, if a guy had no plan B and could still beat guys like Toney,Hopkins,Hill and McCallum he was must have been pretty good.

Toney and green Hopkins didn't have the tools to trouble him but when someone came in with a solid game plan (Montell Griffin 1st fight) Jones got frustrated and ended up hitting him while he was down and this was in his supposed prime.

yeah, that was a stupid move by Roy... Had a slow start that night, but was well on his way to winning when he disqualified.

He was much better in the next fight, showed what a fully motivated Prime Jones could do to a fighter like Griffin. And to my friend HEADBANGER that claims Roy had no plan B, I would say Griffin 2 is a perfect example of changing a game plan and being successful.

And I wouldn't say Toney and Hopkins didn't have the tools to trouble him.. Both had plenty of tools, they were just outclassed.
