Roy Nelson has 3 wins in the UFC, including knockout victories over Cro Cop and Struve.

You like to talk a lot of **** about how much of a hero you are. What's YOUR most notable athletic achievement? You won a pose-off in the gym?

First words of the thread - "He's not the best fighter around."

Not everybody is or can be a worldbeater. But Roy Nelson is an honest, hardworking fighter who will fight anyone and always does his best to win fights by knockout. He'll soak up as much of a beating as his opponent can dish out and still keep pressing forward, and he's always looking for the stoppage.

In other words, he's exactly what these morons apparently want to see. Yet these same assholes who **** on Condit for being a "coward" also **** on Nelson for being "a punching bag." Just goes to show the calibre of MMA fans we have in this forum. :-(

To be fair no one who's commented in this thread criticized Condit for his performance.

Roy is out of his depth fighting at the level of guys he's been in with recently, but as someone's already said, once he goes back to facing guys out with the top 10 he's going to find some success again. You've got respect him, even if only for his ****ing incredible chin. I've never seen anyone who can eat the amount of huge shots both JDS and Werdum hit him with and still keep coming back for more.

Big Country v Barry would make for a fun heavyweight scrap tucked away on one of the Fuel TV cards.

I luv watch big country fight. He certainly makes everyone they put in front of him work for the win. Those that think he can't fight.......easy solution......step up & take him on but take a pillow with you so you can land softly on it when he KO's you. ****en legend wannabes everywhere on the net.

I keep getting really mad at the ****ing brass and Joe Rogan saying over and over CAN YOU IMAGINE WHERE ROY NELSON WOULD BE IF HE WASN'T FAT? Uh no, because it hasn't really got anything to do with it. Sure he might have some more cardio and potentially less punching power, but its not like he'd get much further. And that **** Rogan saying he could get down to Middleweight... come on, man.

Undeniable heart and chin, but I don't know what to make of the guy. He hasn't really improved and doesn't seem to push himself to... I agree on most accounts with the OP, yea, he's a gutsy, nice, honest guy, but what many others (namely Flash Jab) said holds true as well.

Following FJ, yea, we dunno how Roy would do if we lost weight and further, if he would be negatively impacted by it. Additionally, he is a guy you want to root for--- but at the end of the day, he's just damned limited. More important than getting rid of his chub is picking up some new dimensions.

Big Country would have to be a better fighter with better conditioning. But the guy's all heart and leaves it all in the octagon :good

Definately not going to bag a guy out like Roy who fights any1 and just keeps trying regardless of the beating he is copping...

Some people on here are so negetive its ridiculous..People are forgetting the guys he has come up short against are top of the foodchain in the Heavyweight division...
