I wish he would go to 205. If you can take JDS punch and defend Werdums sub attempts then you have beastly qualities. The guy gets exhausted and survives on toughness. He is facing huge guys.

At 205 he'd be so much fitter and more agile. I could see him having success. Imagine if he put Shogun or Hendo on their back, he could win the fight. What if he lands a big right hand on Machida or Rashads chin.

Question - could you see any of the other 205's surviving what JDS, Mir and Werdum were dishing out?

Maybe only hendos chin could take it...But doubt it..

I think roy would do well as a light heavy but hes in his 30's and fought at like 246 yesterday....Can u see him being able to suddenly lose extra 41pounds...thats a shitload of timber.

If he really wanted to then he could do it easily. He clearly trains so can you imagine what his diet must be to stop him from losing his fast. It must be scary.

He could get to 215 and cut 10 pounds. I wouldn't be suprised if at 215 he still has fat!

Roy is the Randy Tex Cobb of MMA. Going to keep getting the crap beat out of him while trying to get the KO. The sad day will be when his chin starts to fail him.

Get him to cut his mullet off. There's at least 40lbs in that bee hive.

Very true. Fighting like that and eventually someone will put him away but not because their power is so great but because Roy Nelsons brain will switch off easier in an attempt to save him from himself!

Because he doesn't have the takedowns to do so.

He said in the pre fight interviews that he believes it is easier to get the stoppage by punching someone rather than going for a sub.

What he doesn't realise is that if he doesn't get the ko, he is always behind on points.

He's got great heart and I like him but there's nothing admirable about getting punched in the face.

If he's not careful his brain will deteriorate later in his life then all this love will quickly turn into pity.
