that guy was a late replacement, he was supposed to be facing Joey Dawejko but Dawejko bottled it. I agree he should be more active though, should be fighting 5 times a year.
Actually the head of World of Boxing Andrey Ryabinsky in the start of Kuzmin's pro career said that Kuzmin will not be rushed and also said he wants Kuzmin to fight more into the US than in Russia and build up him in the US
I would like to see Kuzmin in with a capable guy next, someone like Derric Rossy, Manuel Charr, Joey Abell, Franklin Lawrence etc.
everyone he fights from here on out should be at least around that level. he also needs to start fighting four times a year, at least. otherwise his prime will be gone before he even gets close to a title shot. his career trajectory now is that of andrei fedosov. he has only fought two decent boxers, lost to both. has a decent ranking and is happy to fight one or two bums a year to protect it. then hope for a payday vs wilder or whomever.
He has 10 fights and is 26 in WBC ranks and you complain that he isn't going by the right trajectory? Here are Fedosov's amateur achievements, nowhere near close to Kuzmin's achievements: Fedosov became involved in boxing since 1995, in Shuya's hometown. In the amateur career, Andrei spent about 50 fights, wthe Russian championship among juniors. In amateurs, he was thanks to coach Gogin Alexei Gennadievich, after which he was noticed by Kostromin Oleg at competitions in the city of Kostroma. Kostromin invited Andrei to train in St. Petersburg, where he worked (coached at the Mining Institute). And he subsequently suggested that Fedosov tries himself on a professional level.
who cares where he is ranked? we all know rankings are bad jokes. like i said, he has fought no one. he doesn't have time to screw around fighting six fight novices we all know he will easily beat. it is time he stepped it up and challenged himself. i have nothing against the guy. i hope he succeeds. but his career trajectory means he won't have much left in the tank, age wise, by the time he gets around to facing top fighters. if he is going to fight six fight nobodies, he should be doing it every three weeks or so. even then that is the path duhaupas took. kuzmin should be much better than duhaupas or fedesov. those are actually two guys he should look into fighting this year.
Rankings aren't a joke, how can they be a joke if you can get a title shot?He is just 29 years old, lot of good years ahead of him.Kuzmin fought Nascimento who busted Parker's eardrum, he fought Nascimento in his 3 fight while Parker fought Nascimento in his 8 fight.Kuzmin fought Darnell Wilson in his 4 fight while Glazkov fought Wilson in his 20 fight. He fought Airich in his 7 fight, Joshua fought Airich in his 8 fight. So how judging by this you can say he is moved at a slow pace?
airich is nothing but a punching bag now. geez man, you want this guy to fight nobodies until he may or may not get a title shot. you want him to be like wilder? 32 and still never having faced anybody decent? kuzmin is being moved slower than wilder. i guarantee he won't have a title shot by the age of 32 if he keeps fighting bums. you tell us, how would you like to see him matched from here on out? i would like to see him in with someone like arreola, eugene hill, laron mitchell, solomon haumano, sam sexton next. give me a name of someone you would like to see him fight this year, please.
wilder isn't my boy and i know he has been matched soft. you weren't understanding what i was saying. anyways i put up a handful of guys who i think are at the level kuzmin should be fighting from here on out. i asked you to please do the same. what level of opponent do you think he should be fighting his next few fights. come up with a few names to go by. thank you.
