Today, 2pm will be formally announced the sacrifice of Juanma .
Unable to make 126, after coming back from 2 vicious beating and having 2 tune up fights against mediocre opposition,he is set up against the best 126 pounder and a future 1-5 p4p. A young and talented boxer who's coming from beating the guy who ruined juanmas career.
Juanma shouldn't fight ever at 126, he'll be dehydrated and slow that night. He compensates his technical deficiencies with his raw power. But I wonder how is he gonna deal with Mikey speed and power.
Arum, once again, guiding his old cows to be slaughtered. And it's a shame because Juanma could have another couple of good fights if was decently matched. I hope at least he gets paid good.

Can't wait to see Mikey retire JuanMa.

Mikey will shatter JuanMa's glass jaw into a thousand shards.

JuanMa was one of the biggest TR hypejobs in recent memory. Can't wait until he's gone for good.

Juanma has no other choice he has gone downhill for a while and is not the star he once was. Fighting nobodies does nothing for his career is either fight a top fighter and beat him to regain his status or resign himself to never being a top fighter again. This is the right fight for him at this moment in his career if he losses he needs to retire.

Everything depends of what he gets paid to retire next. That's the only way it makes sense.
There are still guys out there he can beat and no necessary class D. He fights in NY, PR and he can sell tickets. And I don't see how he can go back to 126 without draining to the last drop. Only take on Mikey or Gamboa when he's ready to hang the gloves.

Oh boy, it's going to be brutal. I'm not particularly a fan of Lopez, in fact, through the years I've always found myself rooting against him, but his losses looked life altering. I hope he doesn't get too hurt.

I agree with you but I don't agree that Mickey is future top 5 P4P material. Gamboa would've easily defeated Mickey at 126 or 130lbs, no doubt.

This is it for JuanMa, if he gets shattered ( which I think he will ) he needs to hang up the gloves. But JuanMa still has the puncher's chance so let's see what happens here.

Socio, Mikey has all the ingredients to become p4p, my concern about him it's the influence of his brother style. He's not the typical Mexican brawler, he can box, sit on his punches, patient, moves good around the ring and always find the range to dominate. Gamboa would've easily defeated Mikey 3 yrs ago, I agree ,but today Mikey is a different animal.

Poor Juanma. He should've just gone up in weight and tried his luck there. 126 is Mikey's territory right now. I'd rather see Mikey unify and fight Chris John. Juanma won't do anything for Mikey's resume at this point.

This is a definite passing of the baton fight. JuanMa has given fans thrills for years, but is well past prime. With his technical deficiencies, a fighter like Garcia would always have given him trouble, but he should pose no problems to Garcia at this stage.

JuanMa gets one last big fight, one last pay check, then hopefully hangs them up.
