That response was probably because it was the first time Wlad got hit in the entire fight. :yep Not that it mattered... :tired

Still, Peter-Wlad II is one of the best heavyweight fights out there and i'd like to see it. I'm a big Vitali fan, but he should retire and let his brother clean up the mess. The problem is that King has options on Peter and Wlad doesn't like that. When Lewis fought Holyfield, King had some bull**** line in the contract that enabled him to strip Lewis for not fighting Ruiz, who at that time was no more than a 19 seconds Tua KO victim.

:rofl I'm on board. I hate that free swinging gorilla and I can almsot never guess one of that guy's fights correctly...

I had him blowing out Wlad quickly and even with 3 knockdowns to his credit, his wide swinging ass couldn't get the job done! :patsch I also had him losing to Toney both times and somehow he came away with the decision in the first fight and then he completely faked everyone out by actually using a jab in the 2nd fight. How was I supposed to know that they'd teach that gorilla how to do tricks and use a jab?

I also had both McCline and Maskaev beating him. McCline almost got the job done but both of those were really more biased picks based on the fact that I just wanted to see Sam's fatass kicked.

In conclusion, that fat **** can go to hell!

 For real. It's just very hard to get a read on the guy. At 1st I was a fan of him seeing how he was blowing by his mediocre opposition. Then he looks like complete garbage against Wladimir Klitschko.. a man most thought would fall quickly to Sam's power.

He then continues to fight in that ugly clubbing style of his and somehow convinces the judges to give him the victory against a highly skilled fighter like James Toney. He then turns around and gives about the worst Ali boxing impersonation I've ever seen but again somehow manages to confuse and outbox Toney for another victory. That threw me for a real loop.

He then seems to regress again and nearly falls victim to a light hitter like Jameel McCline. The hell? How the **** are you supposed to get a good read on a guy with such off performances in between his 'good ones'. Especially when he prety much disgraces the sport by coming in as heavy as he does on fight night. A man with his build should be absolutely no where near 250. :verysad

Peter had a ruptured eardrum in the McCline fight which I'm sure affected his balance alot,,yes it's true even HBO had confirmed it. I do agree with you about his weight but still he is not fat like alot make him out to be. Just look at any pics of him you never see rolls on him like toney or some of the true fat asses out there. He is built like a tank but he should be around 230 to 235 IMO

    He did Ok against Wlad.
    He beat Toney.
He came back to beat McCline.
    He beat Oleg.

Some big Peter fans might overrate him but he's still in the top 5 heavy list. I'd like to see how he does against Povetkin of Barney Rubble, or Valuev or Golota.

Was the eardrum ruptured before or during the fight? Because if it's during then it's no excuse. Those are just the hazards of the job.

I agree that he doesn't look quite as bloated as a James Toney but that's still no reason for him to come into fights as heavy as he does. Just look at his build, compare him roughly to the dimensions of a Rahman, about 6'2" with a strong and powerful build... and say that an in shape Rahman comes into fights weighing in the 230's. Peter should head that example and be no more than the mid to lower 230's.

Add his weight problems to the fact that he's often put on very poor looking performances with that ****ing awful technique of his, and you can easily see how so many have a problem with him. Being a top title holding contender he just disgraces our sport by appearing the way he does in the ring. :bart

He did not have much of a amateur background and he is still fairly young at 27,,, He has done very well for the lack of proper training,, but he still has lots of time to improve. Just find my thread where I have the very first pro fight of his,,,, just look at the improvements,, it's like night and day

id say peter is underrated on here. his "caveman" style turns off a lot of people but he has a lot of positive intangibles going for him. however, his inconisistent training and lack of defense makes a long and consistent career unlikely.

ive got him #2 and i would only pick wlad and perhaps sultan to outpoint him. Wlad stops him cold and sultan has that mover-boxer style to bother peter.

other than that, peter beats the rest including povektin, valuev, haye, etc...u stand there and trade with peter, u r playing right into hands. he can take anyone's punch. the best strategy is to move and let peter walk into punches.

If Sultan can outpoint him then so could Povetkin, Valuev, Chagaev, and Golota, maybe Ruiz.

there is a difference between them. sultan does not stand in the pocket and engage. he moves and picks his spots to attack, then runs. povetkin, valuev, golota don't utilize that foot movment. instead, they would stand in front of peter more willing to trade, susceptible to big punches. they are right in the wheelhouse of their opponents, especially povetkin. foot movement negates offense.

sultan would force peter to chase and expend energy.

chagaev i dont include because of the injury. he might not fight again....an acl injury can badly affect one's mobility. rarely do you see athletes recover fully

That fight would be nice. Also fights with Haye, Chagaev, Vitali, Povetkin and many others could be entertaining. Sam brings entertainment to a dead division, can't ask for more.
