The same people who say Tyson was "shot" vs Douglas in 1990 still think he's got something left?

Tyson fans are deluded beyond belief, thinking he can beat Shannon Briggs or Danny Williams or God sakes even Wilder

You people are mentally deranged, this man was FINISHED 15 years ago, wake up jesus christ

I remember reading the internet in the mid-2000's, around the time he was due to face McBride, and seeing guys claim that Tyson could unify the titles.

Tyson fans believe in their guy. It's quite endearing that he engenders such naive feeling. He's a figure that makes people feel good when they think of him, as if they were thinking of the orange soda mom used to give them or some other warm recollection of childhood.

For what it's worth, Mike wasn't shot in 1990, he was well within his physical prime, but he'd regressed as a fighter with the disconnect from Kevin Rooney and never got all the way back to where he was. Post-jail Mike was still a very handy fighter, of course, he was just steps behind the Kid Dynamite he'd been.

He wasn't physically shot, he just didn't train and was drinking and hugely distracted with the divorce etc

A lot of the casual Tyson fans have no idea. He is not going to be having a real boxing match or a bare knuckle fight he will likely spar a 4 to 6 round exhibition against another retired heavyweight who is over 45 years old.

Right now he's healthier than he's been since 1987. No coke, no suicide, no drink, no steak, no weights, just lots of fish and vegetables and a stable mind

Um doesn't he smoke weed 24/7 and said he wanted to die the other week. I think he's as unstable as ever mentally he's just become less violent with age and slipped into more self pity

Who are these people? Or are you just talking out of your ass? Who actually said Tyson was shot when he fought McBride and are now saying he has a chance? Give names!

These kids just don’t get it how the fight game works . Mike is putting out another video weighing solid 235 according to his trainer that makes the already impressive one look like nothing . He’s only been training 3 weeks ,imagine he stays focused and has a two year run in combat sports , I bet Wilder will be quiet as a mouse if he’s still around . People actually believe a focused Mike loses to that guy and we’re the crazy ones ? :crazylick:

That just shows that he was far from a natural fighter and a freak, I mean if your skills can diminish that much after 2 damn fights whilst at your peak then what more can you say.

It's not as though Tyson came in out of shape against Douglas, personally I think his downfall is overstated and it was just a case of meeting a superior fighter on that given night.

A dilution of your training methodology is no good thing at the best of times, let alone if you're unravelling personally, surrounded by hypemen and growing complacent. Aaron Snowell knew nothing of D'Amato's system.

Douglas took advantage brilliantly, though. That was the night of his life, and he deserved it.

He was defo shot in a sense afterwards, knocked out and his aura of invincibility and fear factor shredded.
