I'd replace the "always" with "ever", but otherwise spot on.

He's avoided the very best and imposed clauses on the most dangerous he was willing to face.

Timing and he has the better lead hand. Shakur's jab is a more consistent weapon than Tank's jab or his left hand. More consistent, not more lethal. Shakur scores with it, he parries with it, he measures and frames opponents with it. Tank is going to lose rounds to Shakur no matter what and unlike most guys he's not gonna IMO get the chance to corner Shakur to force a firefight. Shakur will move in round 12 just as fluidly as he does in round 1 under pressure. Shakur won't slow down. Shakur also has better eyes than anyone Tank has fought, he can pretty much see everything coming. I just think Shakur is a bad fight for anyone under 147. I'm a fan of both obviously but I wouldn't put money down against Shakur. Those spoiler types are hard to beat

Easily top 3 top 4 lightweight that is for sure, a skilful athletic fast physically strong lightweight who like Pitbull Cruz will go on to win a world title.

Haney won the fight albeit narrowly but yes he did win. I don’t care what most think because they are wrong.

    Wrong?

    Sorry.

The fight was certainly close and competitive, but the better man that night did not get the nod.

Reasonable assessment I guess I’m still waiting for Shakur to do it in a big fight. I was all in on Haney to dominate Garcia and have rethought the 135-140 landscape

Who do you see as poison for Shakur?

    Here's the real scary reality

How many actual real world champions has he fought and not WBA regular champs?

How many were shot to hell?

Dragged up in weight at least 1 or 2 divisions?

How many were champions at the weight he fought them at?

Were world champions long before he fought them?

Twink is a legit two-weight champ but it was only a legit one-weight one until he was recently upgraded to full WBA champ by his good buddies at the WBA after Haney vacated his belts

Of the 10 'world champions' he has fought

Yuriorkis Gamboa was the WBA regular champ, 38 y/o and shot to hell and was a real world champion way back in 2013

Cristobal Cruz was 38, shot to bits, a world champion way back in 2009 down at 126, as was 1-7-2 in his last 11 fights

Hugo Ruiz was a world champion down at 122

Jesus Marcelo Cuellar was a former WBA regular champion down at 126, a career 126 who never fought at 130, and was coming off a 16 month layoff and a loss but was somehow nominated to contest the vacant 130 title with Tank.

''Somehow'' meaning that someone has a very cosy relationship with the WBA and one could easily be forgiven for thinking that the WBA's palms are being greased by someone they shouldn't be in return for favours because the WBA, and the WBA regular belt, is a recurring theme here

    More on the Cuellar corruption

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/davis-cuellar-alberto-machado-and-wba-corruption.606231/

Mario Barrios was the WBA regular champion at 140 who won his belt via a hometown gift from his three home judges against a seven fight novice. Not sure if he's been upgraded to the full champ at 147 yet or not but he earned his shot at the WBC interim belt after going 1-2 in his previous 3 fights, the KO loss to Twink at 140 and getting schooled by an injury-ravaged inactive Keithy who hadn't fought in 2.5 years. Barrios won the interim belt against Ugas who earned his shot at it by getting the soul beaten out of his body and stopped in his previous fight by Spence

Leo Santa Cruz was the IBF champ at 118, the WBC champ at 122, the WBA champ at 126, and he won the WBA belt in his previous fight, and only fight at 130, when paired up for the vacant title against fellow 126 pounder. Twink was always a 135 pounder not a 130 and his size and power advantage was always going to be way too much for 122-126 pounder Leo who prior to then the hardest puncher he'd faced was probably blown up 122 pounder Frampton

Hector Garcia was the champ at 130 and dragged up to 135

Rolando Romero became the WBA 140 champ in his very next fight after getting knocked out by Twink down at 135 when he was paired up against a 40 y/o Barroso for the vacant title despite the fact he'd never fought at that weight and, as said, was coming off a KO loss in his previous fight.

The corruption was on full display as soon as they announced the fight. It was supposed to be a gimme for Rolly to pick up a free world title but Rolly is such trash even senior citizen Barroso (who was KO'd by KO32% Anthony Crolla way back in his prime) not only dropped him but was soundly beating his ass prior to the corrupt as sin ref having to intervene to make sure everything went according to plan and Rolly left the ring with that belt wrapped around his waist

The ref called a blatant push a KD in Rolly's favour and then later dived and waved the fight off over nothing in what was one of the most brazen displays of corruption you'll ever see

And let's not forget Rolly also got his ass whooped by Jackson Martinez prior to facing Twink but the three home judges robbed Martinez blind.

Jose Pedraza was the IBF champ at 130 and the WBO champion at 135

Isaac Cruz Isaac became world champion by beating the useless Rolly

As for Twink's 'Three weight world champion'' status

He became a two weight 'world champion' after being paired up for the vacant WBA regular belt against a shot always chinny 38 y/o Cuban leprechaun Gamboa who'd stopped 2 of his last 11 opponents.

And he became a three-weight 'world champion' when he beat Barrios for the good old WBA's regular belt. Loma was the real WBA world champion but he wanted zero part of him

Everyone knows Josh Taylor was the only world champion at 140 because he was, duh, undisputed but apparently he ''brought nothing to the table'' other than his four world titles, Ring belt, and P4P ranking. Barrios brought more than him

Twink is an excellent fighter but his resume is trash. He had over 220 amateur fights and has been a pro for 11 years but his best win still to this day is Pedraza who Loma took on as a tune up just seven months after shoulder surgery when not near 100%. Loma's surgeon strongly advised him to not come back that quickly and when Loma refused to listen he advised Loma to devise a game plan which revolved around not throwing his right hook.

People quickly forget that Frank Martin arguably lost his previous fight to someone no one had heard of and if he didn't it was a 7-5 fight at best

See what I mean about smoke and mirrors?

The better man is who wins in accordance with the judging criteria. I scored it a narrow win for Haney as did the judges. Most on here because of their love of Loma did not score the fight with their eyes rather with their desire for Loma to win. When it comes to boxing I don’t **** around because it’s important to me. I score fights round by round as I see it unfolding.

Serge there you go again with your typical smoke and mirrors narrative. Say what you really mean which is to blame Uncle Al Haymon, Big Brother Leonard Ellerbe and Floyd Mayweather. The most important stat you have pulled out is Tank has defeated 10 world champions to date. You should also detail how many undefeated fighters he has beaten but guess that does not support your smoke and mirrors narrative! When Tank knocks Loma out in November what is your excuse narrative going to be? Loma is to old. Of course if Loma were to win which he won’t guess he is the GOAT. We have a hit list Loma is going to get it, then Shakur will get it, Ryan can get it again then Teo who clearly does not want it. So let it be written so let it be done.

The Pitbull fight shows that its much more hype and careful fight selection than monster. People want to praise Tank like hes an ATG after beating Rolly Romero (who), Frank Martin (who), Hector Garcia (who), Ryan Garcia at a catchweight w a rehydration clause lmao, geriatric Gamboa, and a GOOD win versus LSC

Ring Magazine polled boxing pundits, insiders and former fighters after the fight.

The results: 13 believed Loma had won, 4 believed Haney had won, and 1 scored the bout a draw.

So the notion that only Loma loyalists scored the fight in his favor is revisionist claptrap.

I am a boxing expert with long experience in the game from different perspectives. I scored it for Haney. A thousand years from now and in the history books it’s still will be a Haney win albeit it narrowly.

Other than his hubris allowing him to go up too high in weight...........The same as all elite boxer punchers..................a volume throwing brawler that wouldn't give him room to breathe or think. Out of everyone currently at 135-140 Pit bull would be the worst matchup for Shakur (even though I think Shakur would win), that would be hell for him. That's why I'm shocked Pit bull's team turned that fight down. They have a better chance than anyone.
