The Scorecards Fallacy

    I noticed people tend to complain when there are wide scorecards in a close fight. So they assume that the judges are corrupt. I believe that corruption is not the only explanation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmMeDOAbx1M

    Although this is correct, this is an instance that doesn't happen that much.

    In most cases it's that a close round automatically gets scored for the home and/or star fighter. "That one's close, give the round to Ali"
    Even when the fighter that wins the round doesn't land the most/best/biggest punches.
