The opportunity to fight elite super middle weights wasn't available in Haglers day. It was for Golovkin.

Another epic fail for the casual GGG fanboi.

Have to disagree with you there Pimp. Style make fight and Canelo is stylistically made for Golovkin. What happened last night was distasteful, Jacobs clearly won that fight.

I like how nobody is giving Jacobs credit for being a lot better than anyone thought, taking Golovkin's shots better than anybody thought and in general putting up a great performance. I pegged round 8 to be about Jacobs' limit, and I was well wrong. Props to him, and so much for his supposed glass chin.

MW is far from dead and there are plenty of guys prowling around like Lemieux, Jacobs, Quillin and maybe even Stevens and Murray who would reconfigure Canelo's face for him.

Jacobs didn't do anything but run all night trying to not get kod. In no way did he win the haters are impressed because he survived so they claim that he won he didn't.

Those who are making negative comments regarding GGG are not giving Jacobs the credit he is due. His game plan was fantastic and he executed it perfectly. He was in incredible shape and fought the fight of his life. Still it was not enough to beat G, who was just a little too good. It was a good fight and there will be more good fights for both guys. Everybody wins really.

The only question about Jacobs was his chin which he proved isnt the fine china many including myself thought it was. Anyone with half a brain knew if Jacobs could take a punch he`d give GGG all he could handle because he is a very very talented fighter. Considering he was much bigger than GGG,better handspeed, movement and could crack just as hard GGG did an amazing job of neutralizing jacobs offense most of the night. Sure jacobs landed some good shots but why wouldnt he? Hes no bum!
Considering all that the fact GGG was making him miss all night and deflecting beautifully a lot of shots off his gloves and shoulders was extremely impressive. It was also impressive how he made Jacobs a bit gunshy by landing some big shots and showing jacobs although he was the bigger man he had to respect the power. I saw a good fight and a close one in the sense Jacobs didnt just get blown out but i thought GGG clearly won the fight. I had it 8-4 GGG on first view and seriously doubt rewatching would change that score and i simply dont know how anyone unless theyre biased had jacobs winning. In my eyes his stock just went up big time and i wouldnt mind seeing a rematch down the road. Jacobs is the real deal and i was wrong to sell him short on his ability to take a punch.

I don't remember that. It seems he became a top talent who can hit just as hard as GGG over night.

There was nobody saying Jacobs would win if his chin held up. NOBODY. The damage control is strong in you boy.

    He's no top talent either.
Its not impressive in the slightest because it means he was barely able to get to Jacobs for 12 rounds. Whats impressive about tucking up and blocking shots on the gloves? How many fights have you seen?

So was it impressive that Jacobs made GGG gunshy and hesitant to throw too? Its was Jacobs game plan to perform that way. You think he wasn't aware of the power going in?

Yes it was a good fight. Jacobs didn't get blown out because GGG produced a lacklustre performance and nowhere near a 'fantastic performance ' as you put it.

If anybody produced a fantastic performance it was Jacobs as he was the guy who was meant to be destroyed in one sided fashion. The fact he took GGG the distance and beat him in a lot of peoples eyes does nothing to raise his stock.
Only the worst most deluded fanboi would ever make such a stupid claim.

Great fight. But GGG is now 37-0. Only question is who is next?

GGG won the fight without a shadow of doubt. However, he also showed us that he has no business being in the ring wit elite 6 feet or taller smw/lhw.

Ward at 175 will be way too much. Ward at 168 is a heavy favorite.

He really did give his all, I was sort of rooting for him on emotional level cuz' his desire to win was so much bigger than G's
As far as the limits go, this was Golovkins first 12 round fight and Danny's 2nd (if memory serves) but both had enough left in them to keep swinging.

Everybody thought that Mayweather was talking outta the side of his neck when he said that Canelo would beat GGG. Now it don't look so far fetched.
